Tony & Pauline who have only recently taken over ownership made us welcome from the first moment we arrived. The location is central within Babbacombe and close to many tourist attractions and the beach with very good bus routes into the town for further exploration. There are several pubs and restaurants within walking distance. We were given a double en-suite room on the ground floor which was well furnished, immaculately clean and in excellent upkeep. There was plenty of tea/coffee/biscuits and water provided. Their knowledge of the area was good considering they had only been in Babbacombe for a few months. The breakfast was freshly cooked to order with a wide range of cereals, yogurts, toast and english breakfast items - great value and very tasty.
We would highly recommend this B&B for value for money, the friendly staff and quality of
accomodation.

Pauline & Tony made me feel very welcome when I arrived and showed me to my room on the top floor. Once I was used to the sloping ceiling!! I soon settled in. Was asked what time I would like breakfast which turned out to be very good - Pauline cooking whilst Tony served and checked that there was everything I needed. Pauline came in every morning to speak to me which was good for me being recently widowed. Tony then changed after breakfast to climb the scaffold as he was renovating the outside of the house which looked much improved after my happy 4 days. Sure I shall be back. Thank-you both. Ena

Didn't realise there had been a change of ownership as we booked a long time in advance.. Arrived just after 10am but this wasn't a problem for Pauline who allowed us to leave our bags after parking the car in the very adequate car parking area.
DIY expert Tony then arrived and as we climed the stairs to room 4 we could already see or maybe smell the fruits of his labours as all the doors and frameworks along the stairway had been freshly and expertly painted.
Throughout the place is spotless...No probs at all there...Brekkie is from 8-9 and that is a 10 out of 10 also...
There is a small garden at the rear for relaxing with a beer from their bar if you so wish..
Facilities near by are second to none really....
Regular bus route (32) into Torquay or to Teignmouth stops pretty much right outside..
To the right as you exit the premises their is Hanbury's famous chippy which is just down the road on the right. Two pubs the George and The Dog & Duck...a newsagent ,a bookies a decent Indian Restaurant a chinese takeaway, a kebab shop and plenty of other little shops and a taxi office just off on the side road.
Over the road and along St Albans Road a few yards brings you to Babbacombe cliff top with some great views, pubs, restaurants, tea shops, hotels, the cliff railway down to the beach and the theatre and some pleasant deck chair chilling out areas..
To the left out of the digs after a short walk you come to St Marychurch..A great cafe' is one of the first places you come to just past the church..Again a top brekkie for early arrivals as we were. There are plenty of shops to be explored plus Bygones museum Molloys,The Dolphin & Snooty Fox pubs..and for folk who like real ale and very old fashioned pubs at the far end of the village near the church is the 16th Century coaching Inn The Crown & Sceptre..which i highly recommend even if it's just to go and see the collection of potties and bed pan's they have hanging from the ceiling.
Back to the digs...We were down primarily for the party which was to celebrate Notts County taking the League 2 title and our last game of the season at Plainmoor...This b&b is very close to Torquay's ground..Say a 10/15 min walk...
The only slight fault i had with the digs is the traffic noise outside is a bit contant if you have the windows open and you are trying to have a siesta or as folk are heading off to work in a morning.
Pauline & Tony we love you and we wish you all the success in your new venture.

Pauline and Tony who had just taken over the hotel a few days earlier, seemed to have done so seamlessly. They were very helpful, warm and friendly. The english breakfast was excellent. Being used to staying in large international hotels, this was a really pleasant and personal experience.
