Cant believe the negative comments about this Hotel,Have just returned from the Coppice Hotel having taken a group of 40+ on a five day holiday,we were taken by Forest Travel, a small family run Coach company, excellent service as usual, (thanks Alan )Ithink we must have gone to a different Hotel than Shaun D in earlier review,Hotel owners Syd & Jennie could not have been more friendly and helpful, the hotel is spotlessly clean, the food was excellent (and plenty of it),Rooms are very very comfortable, and all the staff are brilliant (thanks Charlene)smiling faces every day,We were fortunate to have good weather which helps..Anyone finding fault with the Coppice in my opinion must be very hard to please, having been on many coach holidays to numerous Hotels this was by far the best and we have been to a few good ones.Keep up the good work Guys 40+ people cant all be wrong, Who was it said 'you can pleas some of the people some of the time' etc: well you pleased all of the people all of the time, fantastic Hotel 'end of '

We had the pleasure of staying at The Coppice for 3 nights whilst on a group coach tour visiting The Eden Project and The Gardens of Heligan.
The hotel was excellent value for money. The service by the staff was swift, efficient and very well organised.
The food served was lovely, there were 3 options for each of the 3 courses for dinner therefore something for everyone. Breakfast options were fantastic and very filling to see you through the day.
The beds were very comfortable and having duvets ensured a sound nights sleep!
If ever we are in that neck of the woods again we would be sure to stay at The Coppice!

Our recent stay was enjoyable, beds very comfy but traffic noise could be heard clearly. No little extras like shower gel, shampoo or biscuits provided in room.
Daily service of room including towels - excellent. Breakfast could have benefitted from a better quality sausage.
Standard of cleanliness high, hosts welcoming and helpful.
Evening menu a bit old hat so ate out.
This critique is intended to be constructive. Recommnended.

I stayed here on a four night coach holiday. I shared a ground floor twin room with my mum. Generaly we are both poor sleepers but slept well all week. The beds were very comfortable. The room was a good size with a single and double bed. The room was very clean and kept very clean during our stay. Plenty of tea and coffee and milk in the room. All staff were friendly and helpful. Jenny and syd the owners are very friendly. The room was lovely and warm.
I forgot my key and got locked out but I rang the bell and was let straight in so it really wasn't a problem.
The hotel is a little way out of Torquay, I was going to walk in but mum wanted to catch the bus which we did easily. We also got the bus back and had a wander around the shops that were near to the hotel. We didn't use the pool and don't have anything negative to say. We would return and if we came to Torquay with out the coach party we would choose to stay hre again. Thanks to all the staff for their hard work in making our stay an enjoyable one

Just returned from a four day trip to Torquay and can't say enough about our wonderful stay at the Coppice. It's location is out of the town, but that makes it more appealing as it is quieter.
The room we had was a good size, had lovely beds and was downstairs next to the indoor pool and dining room. No noise from anywhere, so slept very well. Everything was changed daily to a very good standard. The food from the breakfast and dinner had a great choice, was really delicious and all freshly cooked. So fresh in fact, that I couldn't believe how they done it so quick from the ordering time. Entertainment was fun, even more so after a few lovely tasty pints.
No complaints, excellent all round value for the money. Many thanks Jenny & Sid.

Sometimes in life one comes across something very special. When it comes to a hotel, the Coppice at Torquay is simply in a class of it's own, absolutely superb in all departments.
You cannot be more impressed with the wonderful friendliness accorded to one by Jenny and Syd, the proprietors.
The rooms are very comfy and clean with all the facilities you would expect. The food reminds one of the very best home cooking, really nicely cooked and appetising. My wife and I are Coeliacs and Jenny was able to offer us gluten free choices at every meal which is always a blessing. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly and I came away feeling we had a very special stay indeed !

Room Tip: There are family rooms available as well as the usual choices

As many before me have commented this Hotel lives up to its ratings.
From the backroom team that spruce up your room every day to the wonderful front of house and restaurant staff, all combine to achieve their aim---to make your stay as memorable as possible which will have you wanting to go back as soon as possible.
Torquay and surrounding resorts are a pleasure anyway, but to have somewhere to stay that provides comfort, good food and great company and entertainment, is just the icing on the cake.
I just hope that when I can go next that not too many people have read my review and there is no room available for me!!!!

Room Tip: Rely on the owners, all the rooms have something to offer.
