My wife and I stayed here for 1 week during early July. It was our first visit, but WILL NOT be our last. On our arrival, we were greeted with a warm friendly smile by Jenny, the co owner, who explained about meal times, both swimming pools and the other amenities. All the staff were really friendly, and could not do enough to help you have a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The food is wholesome, well cooked with plenty of choice. A lot of coach parties use the hotel, but this is no way to its detriment. The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the grounds are tidy an well kept. Our on suite bedroom was a reasonable size, and had tea and coffee making facilities and television. It was situated at the side of the hotel overlooking the main road, and did suffer from a little road noise. Good entertainment is offered each night, and bar prices are reasonable. The hotel is situated approx. 1 mile outside Torquay, on Babbacombe Road. Bus stops are within a couple of minutes walk. In summary a Good, Clean, Friendly hotel offering Good accommodation, good food and facilities at a reasonable price. We will most certainly return.

We were greeted by Jenny the co owner. Her customer care was awesome as was her staff in the restaurant. The food was faultless always serve piping hot and well cooked. The hotel itself was spotless the decor was also spotless. it actually looked as if it had just been decorated, but it had not been. My big thanks to Jenny, Syd and all the staff for a spankingly good weekend. I am a customer care trainer and there is nothing I can could teach them. We will definitely be back and very soon. Room Tip: There was wifi in the lounge and bar area

The moment we walked through the doors there was a damp and musty smell which I thought would not be good for my asthma. Staff were not really friendly until day of leaving when they actually found a smile. we got home to find the damp and musty smell had invaded our suitcases which had been left on the floor in the room and everything had to be washed, some things twice just to ger rid of the smell. We will definitely niot be going there again. I wonder how they were awarded 4 star status.

Room Tip: Don't bother

This lovely private hotel is a great place to stay. The owners take a very active part in the daily running of the hotel. The food is very good with a choice of menu.Staff are very pleasant and helpful.Hotel is a little way out of Torquay but buses are just outside the hotel going to either Babbacome or Torquay. We would stay there again. This was our second visit to the Coppice.

Room Tip: If you sleep with your windows open try not to have a room on the right hand side of the outside pool because the road can be noisy

My wife and I recently spent 5 days at the Coppice. We have stayed at the hotel many times before and have never been let down. jenny and Sid work so hard to give each of their guests such a good experience. Nothing is too much trouble. The hotel and rooms are spotless. The food excellent. All the staff hard working and polite and always have time for you. The leisure facilities are good, the indoor pool warm and clean. The grounds are well tended and spotless.
Considering the daily cost you would find it difficult to match this hotel anywhere. We certainly will be revisiting the Coppice again next year. Martin and Jane Thomas
