My partner and I stayed here August 2011, the couple were very freindly and helpfull. The room was small but immaculate. The breakfast was amazing with good options if you didn"t want "The Full English" ( its a must though ! ) I would highly reccoment this guest house and would definately stay again. Many thanks

I stayed here for 2 nights - and everything was perfect . The room and bathroom were spotless. The breakfasts were amazing- so much to eat !! The location is perfect too. Just around the corner to catch a bus into town , or the pleasant walk into town takes around 15 to 20 minutes . The owners explained all this ,and more , before I arrived, so there were no surprises- apart from just how good it is here !!

We have just come back from one of the best ever holidays we have had. The hospitality was excellent, they could not do enough for you. The breakfasts were the best we have ever had in any other Guest House we've stayed in. The rooms were spotless and cleanliness was second to none. We would recomend everyone who is thinking of going to Torquay should seriously consider staying here

We spent five nights here in August '10 and in our opinion The Mariners Guesthouse is the perfect place to base yourself when exploring the English Riviera.

Nestled halfway up Belgrave Road, a five minute walk (downhill!) to the sea front, fifteen minutes from the harbour and town centre, The Mariners provides a central, but calm location in Torquay.

The first thing to point out - as other reviews have done - is the superb breakfast laid on by the hosts. It really is as good and as hearty as previous reviewers have made out!

The standard set by the breakfast is maintained throughout the guesthouse - the rooms are kept spotlessly clean, the hosts are friendly and knowledgeable of the area, and night times are peaceful enough - permitting decent recuperation from the hard slog of the day before!

For the reasonable rates paid this is a superb guesthouse which we would recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
