I would highly recommend The Patricia to anyone looking to stay in Torquay. Roy and Kath are wonderful hosts and they really work hard to make guests comfortable and happy. The property is very well maintained and the food was exceptional. My husband and I cannot wait to visit again and will be planning our return trip soon. Thanks for a lovely stay

The Patricia was recommended to me by my parents who stayed there previously; they were right to think so highly of it. The owners, Roy and Kath, were very friendly and extremely helpful throughout my stay; the room was an ideal size and spotless; the meals were delicious; and the cost was very reasonable. I will definitely be staying again at The Patricia when I go back to Torquay and will be recommending it to everyone I know!

Had originally booked to stay next door but got a call to say they were over booked so they had booked us in to The Patricia.
Ray the owner was very warm and welcoming. The room was clean but very small for a double room. The en-suite was really small and not equipped to cater for a larger person like me! The shower was really tiny! The whole place needs modernising as its like stepping back to the 70's and 80's era of B&B's.
Breakfast was basic but ok. We asked for something not on the menu (a poached egg!) and it was no problem for Rays wife to cook it for us.
Overall it was ok for a night but i couldnt stay for longer as it was way too small.

Thank ypu for your review,we both had to smile when we read your comment about our guest house being like something from the 70s and 80s,we do hope that you mean the 1870s and 80s as that is the look we strive to achieve, as the property was built in the early 1800s it is a Georgian building retaining many of it's original features and although the bedrooms have been moderised all of which have had new bathrooms in the last 12 months the public areas are in keeping with the period which is what gives the building it's charm. The standard room that you booked is of average size as is the shower but if you had have mentioned that you had a problem then we could have offered you one of our larger superior rooms with a double shower cubicle.I am also sorry that you found our breakfast basic when it is actually rated with a 5*score from visit Britain who came to assess us last month and better still it is highly rated by our many guests. Regards Kath and Roy Hamilton.

We booked 2-night stay at The Patricia for our first trip to Torquay. The owners, Roy & Kath, were very friendly and extremely hospitable. Our room was bright, the toilet & shower was clean. We enjoyed the wonderful English breakfast prepared by Kath each morning. The cozy dining room was decorated like a traditional English kitchen, which made us feel warm.

Besides,The Patricia is only 7 minutes walk to Abbey Sand beach and Torre Abbey garden. It is also within walking distance to the harbour where ferries to Brixham departs.

First time at the hotel and I'm pretty certain it won't be my last. 3 of us went up for the weekend to watch the football, the owner was very friendly and informative - and the room was really nice. The breakfast was perfect too. Highly recommend The Patricia.

I have stayed at this hotel previously 2 years ago, so decided to book a further extended weekend break as a surprise for my wife, (anniversary)I contacted the patron Kath & discussed "adding a little something extra" she was very supportive and arranged a beautiful assortment of flowers in the room and had some lovely chocolates and a bottle of bubbly this really was the "wow" factor added to the superior room ("4 poster") this definitely added the finishing touch to a lovely stay - my wife was impressed last visit at the cleanliness of this hotel and once again this did not disappoint, she did point out some refurbishment, newly decorated & new en-suite bathroom, (which was needed) I had a drink in the bar/lounge with Roy (which was well stocked) and found them both to be very hospitable - the breakfast was superb cooked by Kath, nothing was too much for Roy (waiter) plenty of selection (which you pre-order) if you want an "impersonal inhospitable stay then this is not the hotel for you a must for comfort & friendliness

Room Tip: This is a Victorian hotel (typical of Torquay) and is over 3 floors - no lift access - although ther...
