“Lovely place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2012

Very welcoming, clean and comfortable. Plenty of choice at breakfast and an optional evening meal available. The full english breakfast was wonderful and freshly cooked. Bed was comfortable and the immediate area was quiet. Tina and Arthur know the area well and can recommend places worth visiting and suitable for all tastes. Will return.

Had a fantastic time. Good location for Torquay town, the beach, Paignton and Newton Abbott
The room was ideal and we were really looked after- Really helpfull.
Breakfast was more than enough with a very good choice.
Would stay again.

We had a 6 night break in Torquay & opted for a guest house.

We wanted was a comfortable guest house meeting the following criteria - Clean, Comfortable, Fairly Quiet, Good Breakfasts plus must be fairly close to the railway station.

We chose the Glenwood because most of the reviews indicated our criteria would be met.

We opted for the King Size room & we're both glad we did - it was spacious, had a VERY comfortable bed, was very clean & offered all the facilities we wanted. The breakfasts were very good - I'm a vegetarian & I was well catered for. We must also agree that Arthur & Tina were both very pleasant, friendly and helpful - suggesting places to visit etc. etc.

All in all, a very nice guest house and would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Go for the King Size room - as you would expect it's at the front of the building & offers a...

Have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Glenwood, this was our fourth visit and the hospitality shown by Arthur & Tina French the proprietors was once again warm and welcoming.
We had a very clean & comfortable en-suite double room, the full English breakfasts were to die for and the evening meals were of the highest quality as Tina use all fresh produce.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in the Torquay area then the Glenwood fits the bill.

Having recentlly returned from our third visit we found that Tina had maintained her high standards of food and accommodation. Always an excellent choice at breakfast and the three course evening meals are exceptional. The rooms have everything one could wish for and Tina and Arthur are very friendly and always make you feel welcome. Highly recommended - we'll be back !

This is an excellent place to say. The room was spacious, with a very comfortable bed, all the facilities worked really well, it was quiet with no road noise, convenient to the Riviera Centre where I was attending a three day conference. Breakfast good - I didn't want the full english but had a very good poached egg instead. Service friendly and informative. Room rates for single occupancy of double rooms - very competitive.

My husband chose this B&B because of the pleasant reviews and we were not disappointed. Excellent value for money, We stayed in a large twinned bedroom on the ground floor looking over the garden,Enjoyed having each a complimentary bottle of water and the small fridge to keep our drinks cool. Tina was very nice and took the time to chat to us in the morning and in the evening, giving us some advice on restaurants and boat cruises for the following day. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Very quiet area with lots of B&B and hotels around. To reach the sea front, it takes 10 to15 minutes through a lovely manor and park. Would recommend it to friends.
