“Nostalgic Visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

We took our friend here as we visiting the Winery and it is a pub that has a lot of very happy family memories in the seventies when it served the best Seafood Platter ever! It has hardly changed although the memu is different and sadly no seafood platter but it was tasty food and the young bar staff were very pleasant and helpful, It is a wonderful spot I would recommend to anyone and we would love to stay there one day.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review!

It's great to hear that after so many years of visiting The Waterman's, that you still enjoy coming here!

Sorry that we do not serve the Seafood Platter, but we are planning a lot of tasty Seafood dishes for our summer menu. So when you come to visit again there might be something more to your fancy!

Again thank you for writing such a lovely review and we hope to see you again in the future!

“Prices?”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 April 2014 via mobile

I have been to this pub a number of times. I find it is expensive but the views from the riverside beer garden are great. I find there drinks prices strange. My wife is local I am not and every time we go there only one of us goes to the bar and order the same round of drinks. Strangely my (local) wife pays less than me because I have to pay tourist prices for seemingly being american. There prices also go up in season and down in winter Very strange.

Dear Sir

We, the Waterman's Arms read your comments on "one price for regulars and another for tourists." We would like to make it very clear that we take great exception to comments of this sort, when it is a legal requirement to make all our prices for drinks and food clearly visible for the public to read. So if a customer has a problem and feels that they have been overcharged, all the information is in full view.
So when a customer has a complaint, we are more than willing to help with the problem and sort it out.

I am sure you can understand why we find it hard to accept when the staff and information is there to clear up any confusion.

If you return to the Waterman's and make yourself known, we would love to buy you a drink and answer any questions you might have.

Sincerely
Les Gresty

“Excellent Sunday lunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2014 via mobile

We had Sunday lunch at the Watermans yesterday. On entering we were made to feel very welcome. The waitresses were good and informed us of the menu. 4 of us had roasts,2 lamb,1 ham and 1 beef. When the food arrived I was very pleased. Hot,yes hot plates and so was the food. Excellent choice of veg. We will be back. Thank you.

“A delightful change !”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2014

We revisited here for lunch and were delighted by the welcome we received from Leslie the landlord and his daughter, gone is the old menu and in its place are tasty offerings for all budgets. The menu may not be extensive but no doubt they will offer a greater variety, especially on the daily specials, as their trade increases.

The pub filled as we concluded our lunch which is a sure sign that it is becoming popular again, sadly the previous tenants had lost their touch, but now under the guidance of the new landlord, we are looking forward to using here on a more regular basis.

Its particularly charming on clement days to sit by the river, with its visiting ducks and watch it flow by, their are facilities to amuse the younger members in the family, so we expect the pub will be very popular in the summer months, especially with the changes to the menu.
