“Amazing, highly recommended”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 August 2013

We visited Devon for a week away and stopped by Vintage Tea in Totnes for high tea. It was sublime! The waitress was very friendly, the restaurant itself was very quaint and welcoming and the food was delicious.

We had sandwiches (of which you get a choice), small patisseries and scones. You were also given the option of a plain or fruit scone and they were promptly fetched, still warm. Cream and jam were provided also.

My favourite thing about this tea room was the crockery! It was very 'vintage' (In keeping with its name) and mismatched, which added to the charm.

“Nice place, but some shortcomings”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013

Very attractive premises, all well presented. Unfortunately the food let it down somewhat. Our waitress got confused about which teapot had which tea and didn't seem to think she needed to sort it out. Sandwiches & scones good, but all 3 cakes we sampled rather mediocre, we make better at home. Looking at other guests' plates were weren't the only ones to be disappointed. Teas not as distinctive as we hoped but that may be personal taste.

“gorgeous place for tea”

Lovely little place for lunch or afternoon tea. The most yummy scones I've tasted and some beautiful blends of tea. Definitely worth the visit to Totnes just go visit this place.

“Extra special afternoon tea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013

We were only in Totnes for the day and couldnt make up our minds as there are so many cute places, but decided on this.

It was beautifully set out with lots of vintage looking tea sets. There was a large choice of cakes, scones (out on display) and sandwiches with plenty of choices of different tea.

I chose afternoon tea and my wife had cheese sandwiches (to share as we saw the afternnon tea and thought it was too big for 1 each)

It was amazing. Im quite a big fan of afternoon tea and have ahd several and this one was fantastic, especially for the price. The sandwich fingers were a great size and the salmon, Ive never had better! The scone was very tasty and the cakes were great. The tea was really good and there was loads of it.

I would highly recommend going here, great atmosphere and very good service.
