“A lovely cottage, well-appointed and with a stunning view”
Reviewed 17 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We spent a very enjoyable week at Buckingham Cottage on the Lancombes Estate. Both Mr Semmance and his daughter were very welcoming and the accommodation was as good as we had expected. We shall return soon to enjoy again the beautiful view and the many attractions of West Dorset.

“fabulous place, a real gem”
Reviewed 3 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

we came across Buckingham cottage whilst planning a week away in half term. we wanted somewhere that was dog friendly and close to Bridport with a bit of character. We (2 adults, 2 young children and a dog) couldn't have been happier with our choice. The location was stunning and the horses at the end of the garden kept the girls occupied for hours, although it did cost us a fortune in carrots! The cottage was well laid out, well equipped and spacious and the log fire was just the thing for the end of the day with a glass of wine. We've stayed in several places in the Bridport / Lyme Regis area and this has been our favourite by far.

“Peaceful home from home”
Reviewed 11 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

It was so very peaceful, I wished we could have stayed longer. Loved the views, and the horses in the field behind our cottage.
There was everything we needed, the welcome drinks & bickies were appreciated. We loved the Dorset biscuits so much, we had to buy some to take home!
I had very prompt response from Adrian, with very comprehensive directions, and lots of info re things to do whilst there.
We would highly recommend the marquis of Lorne for a meal, and would advise booking a table as we only got a table (for 2 at 6pm on a mon eve) because someone had just cancelled their booking!

“Lovely”
Reviewed 25 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

Spent four nights here as a base for a walking/sightseeing holiday. Clean and comfortable with a lovely view to wake up to and to end the day with. A real pleasure to sit in the private garden and watch the sunset over rolling fields.
Thoroughly recommended, and good value.

“A peaceful location”
Reviewed 8 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

The cottage is set in a fabulously peaceful location, surrounded by fields and good views, but is still close enough to everything you need for a fantastic holiday. Beaches, shops and much more.
The cottage was available on arrival, is clean and had everything we needed for our lovely week in Dorset. A real home from home. Our children loved running around the garden and watching the rabbits in the field.
Adrian is a great host, making us feel very welcome.
We will be back.

“Lovely peaceful holiday let”
Reviewed 23 July 2014 for a stay in June 2014

We stayed here for two nights in June (me, husband, teenage daughter). Cottage is very well appointed - everything you need is there. Set in glorious Dorset countryside, lovely and peaceful - no traffic noise - bliss. Owners very helpful - only there for two nights and did not have any issues that needed sorting. Very convenient for Lyme Regis, Charmouth and the surrounding areas. We had a great time and were only sorry it was so brief. Would definitely go back and have no hesitation in recommending.

“A peaceful place”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Extremely clean and well equipped holiday accommodation near Bridport but a car (unless doing some of the excellent walks out the door including the Ant Hill Trail) is necessary. A lovely view with cows on the hill. Good for elderly/those with limited mobility who require complete access on a single floor and plenty of easy flat parking right outside the door.
