Clean, bright rooms for Hong Kong standards, friendly and helpful staff, good info, terrace and common area with drinks available and a good range of DVDs that can be borrowed in the rooms.
A few minutes walk to or from the airport bus stop 21A who runs every 15 to 20 minutes. Very pleasant stay.
I cannot record for the Hankow, branch which is not far but have not been.

We were 3 students looking for a couple of days break and found this place on laterooms.
Very cheap at £65 for 3 singles.
Location was ideal, staff were incredibly friendly and rooms were pretty good.
For the price it is outstanding, but the rooms were clean, pub below was nice and have nothing bad to say - except £3.50 for an ale was slightly expensive.
Parking was only a slight problem as there are 3 spaces, but on a weekday before the summer spaces became available within a minute or two walking distance.

Definitely recommend this place. Maybe not as a romantic get away. But a nice pub suitable for families, perfect for young students/adults wanting a room for a night. Great choice

We booked this 2 days before we went and was very optimistc as above a pub, but we were very pleasantly surprised the room (8) was huge with a massive bed, good size bathroom with bath & shower.
Only a 10 minute walk into town, however there are a good range of restaurants on the doorstep.

Booked The Hop Inn through Late Rooms and paid £54 including breakfast for two of us. At this price you can't go wrong. There is a pub on the ground floor, and although we were on the first floor, we have no complaints about noise. The room was adequate for the price, with tea making facilities, shower with hot water, and a large comfortable bed. The BIC is just five minute walk away, and there is a half decent Indian Restaurant next door as well as a convenience store over the road.
Late Rooms gave us the impression that they had discounted the room from £125 to £54. I must make it clear though, that a four star review is based on £54. Only a fool would pay £125 for this room!!

Hotel located near to the pier. Good for a short weekend with friends then for couples or families. Brakfast was nice. restaurant looks fine but staff shouldn't fill the bottles of ketchup affront the guest , using the leftovers from the other bottles, it's discounting. Room was big but mattress very , very soft and not comfortable at all. I would recommend this place for young people for the short stay. Good value for money

This hotel was booked as part of a package with an event company.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a lady (who we later found out to be Jane) who gave us some advice on the do's and don'ts on our weekend and secured the bond. This is done in a professional manner but at the same time it's like having a "pet talk" from your mum. Firm but fair. The only downside to the check in is that the hotel does not have a reception and all the checking in procedure is done at the bar.

The rooms are clean and tidy and located above the bar which is 24 hour for guests- result.

All the staff are friendly but I have to say Jane and Bev are like a double act and I mean that in a nice way.

Unfortunately, I have to add a couple of negatives and that's that the water was only warm and the gent's toilets for the bar leave a lot to be desired.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

I booked this hotel as part of a package with a company who arranged our stag do. We didnt get a choice in where we were going to stay and when I found out and look it up on google street view I was a little Dubious and didnt like the look of it and saw a couple of reviews about it being a dodgy pub!

When we got there I was pleasantly surprised as despite the look of it out side it was really nice inside, it seemed newly refurbished although there was some parts that seemed to be falling apart ( fixing to the walls almost hanging off and damage to the plaster/ dodgy door handles that appear to be nearly falling off) bit more attention here would be good.

The staff to start of with were a little moody but I think that was because we were a stag party and they had to be firm so that there was no disruption or damage so I can understand the moodiness. After the initial checking in the staff warmed up and were quite friendly.

We had a free breakfast included in our package and we were quite impressed with the quality of the breakfast, although we didn't try any of the main food. The range of drinks were very good they had many different types although we had a guy in our party who only likes real ales and bitters and wasn't massively impressed with the selection but thats not surprising.

The rooms were quite contemporary and looked good, it was a shame they squeezed 4 guys into this one room, as there must have been more rooms available. We all had proper mattresses and beds though and there was enough room to get around.

The only thing I can really moan about with The Hop Inn is that we had hot water for about 4 mins and then it went cold and then went luke warm for about 5 mins and went cold again! Not being funny but if your main types of customers are Stag and Hen parties and your squeezing 4 into each room then at least get a hot water system that can handle the demand of that many people! This was consistent through the whole stag weekend.

The bar being open all night for the patrons of the hotel is a great idea! The idea is when you come back from your night out and your being all loud etc you do it all down in the bar and you calm down in the bar so when your ready to go up to the rooms your not all rowdy and waking up the other residents! Its a great idea and worked well. The night porter was really good having a good chat with us and talking about the best places to go the following night.

Only quip about the night bar is that we were all starving and they only had a small selection of bar snacks, I think it would be a good idea for them to have the kitchen open all night even if its just to serve chips or someting, they'd make money and they would make everyone happy when they came back!

Room Tip: I think all rooms were pretty much generic and the same.
