“Helpful Staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2012

Stayed for a 6 night break with my 12 yr old daughter. We were originally booked into Room 18 which although huge had frosted windows, TV was to the left of the bed (?) meaning we had to crane our necks to watch it. The room was also situated at the back of hotel over some very noisy air con units. Needless to say I didn't get much sleep and so the next morning complained to a very apologetic female receptionist who immediately moved us and gave us a refund. Room 20, although smaller, was excellent! The restaurant next door provide good service and food, the breakfasts were great value for money. In fact decided not to bother with breakfast at hotel one morning and have it in Harry Ramsdens Cafe...big mistake..got a dry scone (no butter), pastry, juice and a horrible cup of tea all served by a very miserable young man, for £7!! The continental and the full breakfasts at Premier Inn are at most £8!
The staff were extremely helpful, car parking is plentyful. The beach is a pleasant 8 min stroll and is quieter than that of central Bournemouth, although we walked along the seafront into Bournemouth quite a bit and that was a nice 25min stroll. The town of Boscombe is unfortunately a little run down so we tended to go into Bournemouth. If you have kids a great place to go is "The Dorset Heavy Horse Centre" in Ringwood, about 25min drive away. Very good value for money and run by horse-passionate owners.

Room Tip: Don't choose Room 18 at the back, although check as they may have fixed their "Air Con"...

At £114 per night I was expecting something quite good. This is what we got:

24hr extractor fan noise that couldn't be switched off
Road noise all night
Smelly shower curtain
Sticky lino floor in the bathroom
Awful pillows
No toilet paper, just a tissue dispenser instead
No shower cap for the missus
Shower is fixed position so no good for washing kids
Dated decor
Nowhere to put the luggage for unpacking
Only 5-6 hangers in the wardrobe
No assistance with the bags up the room with 2 cases and 2 kids!

On the positive side:
Good location
Restaurant is pretty good but had a better menu last year
Room was pretty clean

The main positive thing to say is that when I told them about the extractor fan keeping me up much of the night, they refunded me the cost of the room. Hence they got promoted from 1/5 to 3/5 in this review.

Room Tip: Room 10 faces the road and it's noisy

We stayed in room 14 for 4 nights with 1 and 4 year old. The room was very spacious and clean. TV channels were good too, we had a good selection to watch. Shower had a good pressure. The only down side is that the shower head does not come off so it was a bit tricky washing the kids.
The restaurant where breakfast is served is excellent - food is very good, staff very friendly especially with our inquisitive 4 year old and I loved the decor. We opted for the full breakfast and I think there was a good selection of hot and cold food. We ate 3 times in the restaurant (lunch and dinner) and it gest quite busy, was guessing it was popular with the locals.
Parking facility was great. We did not encounter any problems and always found space to park.
In my opinion the hotel is well located, and only a few minutes away from centre. We booked this hotel because we did not need to be close to the beach and wanted hassle free parking.
Reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
Ps bed and pillows were great!

We stayed for a week in room 14 with a small baby. They couldn't be more friendly. All the staff were great. It was very clean and great size room. Never been in hotel room so big before.only down sides were distance To the beach and no nutella at breakfast! Talking of the unlimited breakfast, it was amazing...unbelievably worth it. The staff were so relaxed it really made travelling with a baby so much easier

We went for the second time (normally preferring to rent a cottage) but had been so impressed by a cheapy weekend away we decided to go again. We were not disappointed. The family room was immaculate and spacious. The beds comfy. The restaurant was great for simple family food and the staff very friendly. Its a 10 min walk to a lovely beach and a short drive to the town centre. Its about 30-40 mins to Peppa pig world so the kids were thrilled. There is a lot close by for families. we enjoyed the Heavy horse farm which was a 20 min drive away. Would definitely recommend. Its superb value for money.

we took our toddler, and stayed in a family room. Loads of space, room was fab and he loved the breakfast!

The hotel was within easy walk of the beach (about 15 minutes). Staff we friendly and helpful.

Big car park and even though on quite a busy road, it was pretty quiet and we slep very well. Blackout curtains erally helped here.

CBeebies was also available in the room, so very handy.

The Premier Inn Bournemouth East is a great place to saty. Its within walking distance of bothe Bournemouth and Boiscombe beach and close to the town. The staff are frendly and professional and all rooms are modern and well appointed. The food inthe restaurant/bar is excellent with plenty of choice. We really enjoyed our stay here

Room Tip: The hotel is on a busy road and traffic noise can be disturbing so better if you have a side or rear...
