“A lovely neighbour restaurant..”
Reviewed 11 June 2011

This is a little gem of a restaurant! We had a lovely table inside as it wasn't that warm outside! The food was simple, tasty and plenty of it.. The service was attentive although they did struggle a bit during the evening when the place was full but at no time were we neglected. Will go back when we're next in town.

“Simply Brilliant”
Reviewed 19 May 2011

The wife and i had come down to sunny Bournemouth for a weekend away over the bank holiday and after researching a few different restaurant's to sample, we decided to go to Westpoint Bistro. I can tell you it was probably the best decision of our break.

I started with the mussels whilst the other half had the oysters, the mussels were simply superb. For my main i decided to go for the Fish and Chips. The beer batter was lovely and crispy but not full of grease like so many other places. The mushy peas and tartare sauce were fantastic as were the hand cut chips. My wife decided to go for the Monkfish wrapped in Parma Ham which she said was equally as good. My dessert choice was the apple fritters with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream. Yet again simply amazing, my wife went for the eton mess which she said was delicious and not too much as you often find with this dessert.

I truly recommend trying Westpoint if you ever go to Bournemouth or even if you live there. Our family is going back down in the summer and will definitely be returning for seconds.

“Expected more...”
Reviewed 26 April 2011

Really looking forward to this after reading the reviews but was quite disappointed. The food was nice for what it was but the surroundings didn't justify the price. The girl serving us was very nice but was on her own so obviously pushed which led to her forgetting part of our order and the drinks being delayed by twenty minutes. Ignoring the cost and surroundings I'd give it a four out of five. As it is, a disappointing three.

“Great Fish!”
Reviewed 21 March 2011

Westpoint Bistro in Bournemouth was a great little place on West Cliff Road which we went to on a Saturday evening in March 2011.

Was a great little place with a huge selection of things, especially seafood.

We tried a variety of things which were all great, the service was good and there wasn't a long wait at all.

If you're looking for somewhere to go and have some good fish by the seaside this is it!

Couldn't ask for more to be honest!

“INEXPENSIVE-GOOD HOME COOKED FOOD-GO IN THE EARLY EVENING”
Reviewed 21 December 2010

Excellent Bistro-went on a recommendation from the guy @ Best Western Montague-up the road. The chef did work @ the hotel and we were very pleased with our Gourmet Fish and Chips. Really fresh beautiful piece of fish plus hand cut and cooked chips (NONE OF YOUR FROZEN RUBBISH). Being scepical of seaside fish and chips, we were very pleased with our meal. the bottle of wine (not usual with fish and chips) was not overpriced and slid down well with the meal. The waitress was vey efficient and friendly and the chef came out and had a chat with us asking if we enjoyed our food. Being honest, we had passed this Bistro during the daylight and it looked like a normal "caff", but it was transformed when it was dark (we eat at about 5-30 pm) and the candle lit tables really made this place a bit special.

Overall, great little place to eat, but we were advised that it closed about 9-pm. So get there early like us-and feast on a great little menu. They also did some really nice other dishes (mainly seafood), but it was a seaside eating house.
We would go to it again as we really enjoyed the great food.

GO AND TRY IT
