We've stayed in a lot of places over the years and have not come across a place that pays so much attention to the small details. In our opinion this is what distinguishes a good hotel from a great one. Right from the tasteful subtle decor, friendly attentive staff to the amazing food this place ticked all the boxes! Definitely worth the money and highly recommended

Room Tip: Sweet chestnut on the second floor was very quiet

We confirmed a booking for a room for 2 nights from Friday 11/10/13, made earlier the same day.
Arrived at the Hotel to check in only to be told that since our booking they had re-booked our room for the second night to another customer!!
How nice to be offered the room we booked for two nights for the first night with a move to a lower standard of room for second.
No thanks!! Were not interested in a hotel with no moral standards where £££ signs rank higher than the customers that pay the bills.
Beware what you book may not be what you get!! Customer care doesnt exist here!!

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. I am so sorry that you didn't experience the best of us on this occassion. What happened was, both our reservations and our reception team took a reservation at the same time which sent our system into overbooking. As you arrived to the hotel shortly afterwards and we had a solution for you we didn't feel it necessary to contact you in advance. I don't believe you were offered a particularly low rate so I'm bewildered by your statement about us having "no moral standards where £££ signs rank higher than the customers that pay the bills". We did try to accommodate you and I can understand that the choices we offered were not to your satisfaction. I'm also sorry that you did not experience the best of us. We are especially known for our welcoming and friendly team in fact we have just been shortlisted for the Dorset Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Customer Service Award. I would love the opportunity to host you at the Green House in the future so please do contact me directly to discuss this further.

An excellent hotel in Bournemouth, just 15-20 minute from the Bournemouth train station. If you take a taxi just 4-5 pounds. Really nice surrounding. Very clean and dry room with clean bathroom. Free Wi-Fi etc.

My husband and I went to stay for our 12th wedding anniversary, and were impressed from start to finish. After a very warm welcome, despite a wedding reception starting right at the very second we arrived. The staff informed us our room was not going to be ready until 3 (our fault for not reading the check in time - not there's!) but they took our luggage and we went to the seafront (about 3 mins walk) for a drink. Within 20 mins they hotel had called an informed us the room was ready. Our room was small but beautifully decorated and the bathroom was to die for! We had homemade shortbread biscuits to go with our tea and fresh milk was brought up to use. Our bed was supremely comfortable with goose down duvets and organic cotton sheets that felt like silk, my one and only comment is that the bed was a little short. My hubby and I are 5 ft 10 and 6 ft 1, so tall, but not excessive, but our feet stuck out the end of the end. It smelt divine in the room, the TV was great and we really appreciated their efforts at "green" recycling etc. Our breakfast was one of the best I have EVER eaten, all freshly prepared and the service was brilliant. The fresh croissant was buttery and flaky and to die for, the yogurt was amazing and the cooked breakfast just right, not greasy, just about the right amount, and my ketchup was even served to me! More importantly, it was less than 5 minutes to the BIC (where we had gone for a concert), less than 5 mins walk to the seaside. Easily accessible for everything bournemouth has to offer. Due to the concert timing we did not try the restaurant but I have no hesitation in saying it would have been brilliant. I will definitely be returning, there was nothing to disappoint you!

We loved the simplistic modern décor in both public and private areas. However our quite small ( large double “Copper Beech”) lacked comfort (one chair), adequate lighting ( downlight in bathroom for makeup etc.), storage (tiny wardrobe) and no bathroom space for toiletries. We also experienced 2 serious plumbing issues in 3 days.
Service levels were very mixed. Nobody on front desk on arrival or to help us oldies up the mega front steps, but once staff arrived we had a great welcome.
Our first evening was somewhat of a disaster with inexperienced staff, a wine list from the room which was apparently redundant, questions about the food and serving and a low sense of professionalism.
We advised the restaurant manager of our concerns and the General Manager appeared and courteously agreed with most of the issues.
Next day, what a transformation. Very professional bar and restaurant management, complimentary wine and excellent meal!
The staff were universally pleasant and helpful but varied significantly in experience, knowledge and ability with Caz being outstanding at multitasking!
We understand that the hotel opened in 2010 and maybe now would be a good time to review the practical features of the bedrooms, a need for more menu options and a much improved wine list.

Room Tip: All rooms are different, try to select one of the larger??

We were in Bournemouth and phoned on the off chance as it said on TripAdvisor it was fully booked. They managed to find a room for a whole family of 4 to stay as they had a cancellation.
Very impressed. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation was clean and newly refurbished. Good breakfast.Would definitely stay again. The location was very good. Keep up the good work.
