Very disappointed for the money we paid for an overnight stay at the Royal Bath. After a 5.5 hour drive and arriving in the pouring rain, all we wanted to do was check in and there was one girl on reception and it was 25 minutes before we finally checked in. She was having trouble with a guest's booking but made no attempt to call anyone else to Reception as the queue just grew longer and longer.
Our room was a decent size although we weren't in it for long as after finally checking in at 8pm we had to check out at 10am the next morning! There were tea/coffee making facilities in the room but unfortunately no milk.
We ate in the hotel restaurant only because it was pouring with rain, but it wasn't a la carte considering it was meant to be a 4/5 star hotel and wished that we had gone across the road.
Breakfast the next day was adequate but we were so disappointed overall, as we had stayed at this hotel two years previously and it had been fine but we won't bother to stay here again. Its lost it charm as a great English hotel.More
