Disgusting, dirty , dated bedrooms and bathrooms.
Arrived to an bathroom so dirty we were scared to use it. Old soap scum around the sink, questionable splatter down the side, dried urine stains all over the toilet, filthy tiles, unknown hair and very dirty floor. The bedroom carpet was not clean enough to remove shoes without fear of sticking to it. The beds were uncomfortable and I woke up with bite marks all over. These are the very worst points but the list is endless-don't ever stay here. Needless to say I didn't stick around for breakfast!!

We have just returned from a 4-night coach trip, staying at this hotel. Considering the incredibly cheap price we paid - £130 for four nights dinner, bed and breakfast, the hotel was very good value for money. Our room on the second floor had a king size and a single bed, a bath with a shower over, and was very comfortable.

One small complaint would be that the bathroom was a little grubby - there were dark hairs on the floor which had obviously not been cleaned since the last guest, and the bath panel was cracked and a bit dirty. We didn't bother to complain, because we were in a hurry to get out and explore, we just had a bit of a wipe round ourselves. Also, there was a bit of noise from the road in front of the hotel, traffic and the odd drunk shouting plus what sounded like metal bins being dragged around at 4am - you might want to use earplugs if you live in a very quiet area. Not the hotel's fault though.

Meals were good, adequate, well-cooked choice for dinner and a good breakfast buffet with decent coffee. The waiters were friendly and efficient, and George the manager was kept busy in the bar and manning reception. There was free entertainment on three out of four nights, bingo and singers - we went out so can't comment on quality but seemed to be the sort of thing the older people would enjoy. You could use the swimming pool of the Marriott hotel in the next street by prior arrangement with Reception - we didn't have time, but this is a good idea.

The hotel is at the top of quite a steep hill, so would not be suitable for people with mobility problems, also the lift doesn't go to the basement level, where the restaurant is stituated, which seemed to be a problem for a few of our fellow travellers who used walking sticks.

Overall, if you can get a good deal on price, this is a very comfortable and pleasant little seaside hotel with friendly staff and decent sized rooms.

We went to the Bic Centre to see Status Quo, so wanted a hotel fairly near. We booked on line the Bourne Hall for 1 night. On arrival no-one on the desk, we had to ring the bell 3 times for attention. given our room, and booked in. The room was small, tidy and very dated. The bathroom main light was not working. No shampoo or soap supplied. The bedding was a thin well worn sheet, shallow 1 pillow each, a blanket and a thin bedspread. Tea and Coffee facilities was supplied. Room was reasonably warm. water hot. did not shower did not fancy the shower over bath bit with curtain.
We arrived back from the show at 10.30 p.m and asked if there was a possibility of a sandwich, was told cut off time is 10 p.m. so bag of crisps and a drink.
Breakfast we apparently sat in the wrong place set for some-one else, but no one greeted us to guide us, there were no fried eggs, and the rest of the food on the hot plate was almost cold, although we did ask for the eggs and they did come, warmest part of breakfast. We paid £76 for the room and was frankly disappointed. We would not recommend this hotel to a friend,. convenient for the Bic Centre but that is all.
Sorry Bourne Hall, but definately did not come up to our expectations.

Went on my first coach trip to Bournmouth and stayed at this hotel. Not recommended if you have any slight mobility problems as there are a number of steps up to the front entrance and then a further flight of steps to reception. A lift that took only 2 people or 3 if you were lucky. I was booked onto the first floor which had another flight of steps in the corridor. All meals were in the basement so there was the flight of stairs from reception to the front entrance and then a further flight of stairs down to the basement.

The room was basic and very dull decor - everything was a darkish blue colour - carpets and bedding covers. The lace curtain was ripped and the wicker was spirling off the legs of the chair. The bedding was a sheet, a thin blanket and heavy cover - I would have prefered a quilt. My bed had a flat sheet and not a fitted sheet on the bottom and the mattress covering was plastic so after a few turns the sheet came off and within hours I was laying on the plastic mattress. I can understand the plastic covering on the mattresses - it is more hygenic and to be fair the bed was very comfortable but the bedding should have been so that I didn't sleep on the plastic. . I stayed 4 nights and on the last day someone was making my bed and said that I should have had a mattress cover on. The milk was not topped up in the refreshments tray and the TV only had 4 channels even though a information pack in the room said it would receive about 8 or 9 channels. The tiles on the walls surrounding the shower had black mould in the grouting and no curtains whatsoever on the large window which was opposite the shower - so I showered in the dark.

The breakfast was good, buffett style and you could eat what you wanted and the service was good for the coffee, tea etc. I thought the restaurant was spacious and clean - although the table cloths were not changed daily - the centre of the table had a navy blue cloth with darker patterned flowers so you could not see the stains very easily. The evening meal was disapointing as one meal was roast pork with crackling and it turned out to be, what I thought was, bought in thin sliced pork - a couple of pieces folded on top of some apple with gravy over. The following day the roast turkey turned out to be the same tasteless thin slices of roast turkey. The veg was one potato each and one desertspoon of veg - I was very disapointed with the evening meals - but there was a couple of choices and a vegie option. - I didn't know whether it was because I was on a coach trip so there were 50 or so on the coach and they were trying to do cheap meals because they had given a cheap deal to the coach company.

The public rooms were good with a large plasma screen and a bar with entertainment some evenings. Although I didn't use it - the use of the gym and swimming pool at the nearby Marriot Hotel was an excellent facility.

Having just returned from a long weekend at the Bourne Hall with a group of 63 people. I have to say we were worried after reading some of the reviews on this site, but found them to be far from the truth.
The rooms were as you would expect from a 2 star hotel, the rooms i seen were all clean and comfortable. The food was good and plentiful offering choices on all 3 courses, and with the breakfast being a buffet style and great quality.
We had entertainment on all 3 nights and went down well with all the party.
The staff were very helpful, Lucinda the hotel owner was very helpful and sorted any issues we had promptly, George who ran the bar for most of the time was pleasant and helpful. Neil the night porter was also pleasant and always there when needed, despite having other work to do during the night.
Overall we found the hotel to be excellent value for money, and WILL certainly be going back for another stay.
