I stayed here for 3 months whilst working in Bournemouth. The hotel is basic, but clean and tidy. Also very big with a lot of space in general. The new owners are very genuine, kind, warm, hospitable and friendly. This is not 5 star accommodation, but definitely the best value for money place in Bournemouth if you're looking for a cheap and good value for money stay - and that's based on 12 years of coming to Bournemouth. I really can't say enough about the proprietors.... lovely people!

we stayed at this hotel in June this year. The rooms were lovely and clean and freshly decorated. The food was delicious and plentiful. we had breakfast and evening meal on a kgb deal and it was excellent value. The food was cooked fresh and nothing was too much trouble for them .I am suprised that this is only a 2 star hotel its worth more. The car park can get crowded on a Sat night but it wasnt a problem. Its only a short walk to the lovely beach and town so thats a bonus. We would certainly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to return. thanks to all the staff for a pleasent stay.

Very tired decor, frayed and torn carpets, particularly on stairs, extremely creaking floorboards to our room, our room was directly over the bar, didn't need to be in the bar to hear the entertainment, heard clearly in our room until 1.00am on 2 nights. Expected to share hand towel as the policy is to give only one, despite being in a double room with my hisband, linen not changed and room not cleaned unless you stay 5 days, only empty bins on a daily basis. Food OK

We stayed here as it is nice and close to the BIC. The hotel is very run down, bare- threaded carpets and creaking floorboards everywhere. We were woken at two in the morning by someone trying to open the door with a key and then knocking until we opened the door. He turned out to be a drunk who thought it was his room. We then lay awake as he was obviously in the room above ours and the floorboards creaked as he moved around!! The only good thing about the hotel was the breakfast, very nicely laid out and plenty of it.

Me and my husband wanted to head to the coast and get out of city so we took advantage of an offer from Go Groopie to stay at the Bourne Hall Hotel in Bournemouth.

I think the best thing about the stay was the location. It was no more than 5 minutes from the beach and we were staying right in the thick of the town centre with loads of things to do right on our doorstep.

On the Saturday we actually left the centre and headed to the New Forrest which i used to visit when i was younger a lot. It was just as beautiful and enchanting as i remember. The hotel itself was everything you needed for a short break. It had clean rooms, friendly staff and my husband was very excited by the help yourself breakfast that we had in the morning.

We had a great time overall. Was definitely great value for money and a great location.

We went on a KGB deal and we were not expecting the Ritz! and that's exactly the case with the Bourne. To be fair we got a nice smiley welcome but with a sting as she announced I would have to pay £10.00 extra (£5.00 per night) for Hotel parking, it is advertised as free on their website and also in their promotional booklet on the reception, however not on weekends, which they don't mention until you have just driven 160 miles, exhausted and have no where else to park! On entering the Hotel it is warm but dated and worn, our double room was small, with poor décor and a poor en-suite bathroom, which was quite dirty, especially the shower curtain. The bed was again, worn with protruding springs which made sleeping uncomfortable, along with the noisy weekend revellers, sleep all together was difficult. Our room no was 108 and is situated next to the stairs which when busy becomes very noisy and very annoying with guests having to open and close the door to gain access. Our only window gave us a direct view of the opposite hotel which likewise looked straight into our window which did not have net curtains,we were unable to open the main curtains to let in light or keep our privacy. As I said the hotel is very worn with extremely old carpets which were often torn through sheer ware. The owners are nice enough and do offer a smile but the staff seem to be uninterested and lack engagement with the guests. I enquired with one member regarding the 'Free' access to the luxurious health & fitness club on offer from the Hotel, I got a "eh?, that's the first I've heard about that, don't know nothing about it". I guided her to the Hotels booklet in which I found the information, I simply got a blank face and a shrug. So no Free Parking and no Free access to health club as claimed. It is a shame because they have a great location and despite the noise at night I would stay in this area again due to the location, just 5 mins walk down to the beach and a further 5 mins walk into the main high street, but the hotel is a massive let down, with poor rooms, inaccurate promotional information regarding parking & facilities and poor staff. The stay spoilt our weekend and I am just thankful I got a kgb deal and did not pay the full price. The hotel is not what it says on the tin!!
