Very good standard for a three star hotel with overall experience made excellent by warm and welcoming staff. In addition, lovely warm indoor swimming pool and pleasant areas for sitting inside or out. Minor problem with charging raised with staff and this was resolved immediately to my satisfaction. Single bedroom very small but still managed to be well cared for and included all the necessary comforts. Good dinner made special again by attentive staff. Breakfasts also excellent with quality exceeding my experience of other three star hotels.

I would definitely recommend this hotel. It felt like a holiday experience in itself rather than just staying somewhere to enjoy Bournemouth!

We booked this hotel for its leisure facilities - it stated indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, jaccuzi and steam room but indoor pool was freezing cold for 6 out of the 7 days we stayed. The jaccuzi was out of action, sauna was off for maintenance and the outdoor pool has been filled in and a new patio is under construction. Breakfasts were buffet style and were only luke warm. Staff were friendly and rooms were clean.

Having been lucky enough to visit The Connaught several times over the past few years, we were back last weekend, ostensibly for a business meeting, but happily our stay was extended to give us time to enjoy Bournemouth and the hotel.

Each time we come back to the Connaught there are some changes, developments like the new gyms (a fabulous range of equipment to compliment the pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi) and the spacious courtyard area just outside the restauant for outside dining. Happily though, some things stay the same, which must include the fantastic service from everyone from reception, to waiting and bar staff and even to the cleaners, who all had a cheerful greeting and were attentive at all times.

Consistent as ever was the cleanliness of the hotel; a sparkling bathroom and pristine room can be taken for granted so easily, but can equally ruin any stay.

Breakfast on each morning of our stay was very busy, but there were no delays in being seated, in tables being cleared or lack of piping hot food to tempt us. Dinner was equally well run, with delicious sounding options on the menu, and chef's specials to consider as well. We enjoyed our final selections enormously. The same restaurant that had buzzed at breakfast was calm and serene for a relaxed evening meal.

The Connaught once again showed us that everyone involved is determined to offer all of their guests the best experience possible, and they certainly hit the mark for us!

Have been visiting the Connaught on a regular basis for several years now and have found it to be very enjoyable and relaxing. The staff are friendly and make you feel very welcome, check-in is quick and easy and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is buffet style and the evening meal is 3 course a la carte with daily chef specials, they also have a varied choice of wines. It is a good location to set off to the beach for the day; and also for concerts and shows at the nearby BIC centre......... All in all my experiences staying here have always been good ones to remember. 10/10

We have just had our second visit this year with our daughter who is profoundly handicapped. What a delight to find such a welcoming hotel. Staff friendly and nothing too much trouble. It was our daughters birthday during our stay and the Chef made her a fantastic chocolate fudge cake - the best we have ever tasted. So large we had to share it around the dining room.

Would highly recommend the Hotel - it is built around an old house so the rooms do vary - take the advice of reception when booking.

Only stayed for one night but the staff could not have been more helpful and accomodating. This more than made up for the slightly below average room we were given in "The Lodge"

The main hotel was lovely the food was great and the service on the whole was good. We stayed in the Lodge and it was certainly not 3 star. The bedrooms and bathroom were clean and just about adequate, the furniture looked very tired and looked like it had been there for years. The entrance, exterior and interior needed lots of TLC. Also to get to the main building you had to walk through the car park so if it had rained we would have been wet going to breakfast. Only use the hotel if you can get a room in the main hotel.
