We spent two nights here and were happy with our accommodation and hotel service. Room was small but sufficient, albeit too hot (even though I turned the radiator off), but clean and well maintained, if a little dated in style. We didn't use the restaurant or the spa as we were occupied elsewhere, but beds was very comfortable and the room generally quiet, apart from about an hour of noisy disco elsewhere on Saturday evening and an intermittent car alarm in the car park. Parking was a little tight - we parked both days at about 1600 and it was almost full - other cars had to double park later which would have been an issue had we wanted to get out in the evening. The BIC is within walking distance (10 mins) down and up a very steep hill, so this is a good stop if you are attending a show or concert and I would definitely use again.

We spent a weekend at the Connaught Hotel in Bournemouth and from our arrival late on Friday to the time that we left on Sunday morning all the staff were welcoming and helpful. Our room was on the third floor with a balcony. It had dark wood furniture and traditional decor. It was wonderful to actually have plenty of drawer and wardrobe space and enough coat hangers for two people’s clothes! I would certainly recommend the Connaught for its location near to the shopping centre and the beach but its star feature is its Bluewater Spa with large pool together with sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi which were extremely well maintained.

Room tip: Third floor balcony rooms are great. Be aware hotel only gives Best Western points if booked at hotel or the central reservations

My husband and I spent two nights at the hotel, visiting Bournemouth for The Temptations/Four Tops concert. There were certainly nice things about our stay. The staff were friendly (especially the gentleman who seated us for breakfast) and the reception & lounge areas were well presented, with the inviting feel of fireplaces glowing as we came in from the pouring rain & howling winds. It was very conveniently located for walking to the Bournemouth International Centre, the shops, restaurants & the cinema. We had dinner in the hotel one evening and my red wine risotto was delicious. I used the gym and was very impressed with the state of the art equipment. Very nicely laid out. Our room, however, was small, functional, but uninspiring. It was a bit of a disappointment, after enjoying the main areas downstairs. The carpet looked tired, the floor squeaked and the dark furniture did nothing to cheer up the room. The only good thing was that there were high ceilings. The bed was only a standard double and the mattress too soft. The bathroom was also small, with no room to put your toiletries. Also, people should be made aware that there is a large building site just next door. While there is nothing that the hotel can do to change that, guests should be aware that they start work at 8am & don't finish until 4pm. We accepted that there would be construction noise, which wasn't too bad. But if that's the sort of thing that would upset you, then be prepared. Of course, in the weeks ahead, the nights will draw in sooner, so their work day will be shorter.

My husband and I recently spent 2 nights at this hotel as part of my 70th birthday celebrations . We have always enjoyed staying there but this time our experience was underwhelming . Our executive bedroom overlooked a huge building site and we were disappointed to discover that Blakes ( the fine dining restaurant ) has been closed . The breakfast was as good as we remembered .

Room tip: When booking check that your room will not overlook the building site

Thank you for your review Chris, I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with your stay, especially considering it was a special occasion. Blakes and the Brasserie merged together around September and we are about to refurbish this area again - hopefully it will be more to your liking on your next visit.
