This Hotel is a comfortable 3* Hotel. Reception is well run and the staff are friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed, though I did think the flat screen TV could have been a bit bigger. Wifi was great, got connected wherever I was and breakfast was very good. So why only 3* review. We went out for dinner and as we took the car we did not drink. When we got back we decided to have a drink in the bar. Having waited for nearly 15 minutes the bar girl finally came back. We did enquire in reception as to where the staff were, but did not get a very good reply. So, I wanted a small lager and lime. She put far too much lime in, but having waited so long I just got on with it. Hubby wanted a beer in a jug. She poured it into a straight pint glass. He told her that was not what he wanted and asked politely if she knew what a jug was. She said yes and continued pouring beer into the straight glass. He told her he wanted a jug with a handle. Bing the Zloty dropped.
Having sat down to enjoy a quiet drink we were interrupted by an off duty male member of staff sitting at the bar for a drink. This is perfectly OK, however, she started ranting on about how she knew what a jug was and he then started complaining about his accommodation being too small. We do not expect to be regaled with staff complaints when we are having a quiet drink. We have stayed here before, but it will probably be our last stay.
Thank you for your review and bringing the bar issue to my attention. I am sorry you were so incensed with the bar girl not understanding what you meant by beer in a pot. The only explanation I can offer is that it is such a rare request in a hotel such as ours that it was obviously omitted from her training for which I apologise profusely. This has now been rectified together with your other negative comments which I am most appreciative.
Hotel very clean and comfortable, staff welcoming and helpful. Most meals taken were from the buffet ( for the conference) and the food was hot, plentiful ( dishes getting low replaced quickly) ample variety and choice. First evening we had a meal from the menu served to the table. Again very good for quality and service. It is a short walk from the cliff top walk to walk off the calories of the delicious desserts!! The room was a good size and had a walk in wardrobe and a balcony( though in January too cold to use) The only downside for me was my room was on the first floor above the bar, which did get a bit noisy late on one evening. The lift is "interesting" for 2 so it is quite cosy with luggage:) This the second year I have been to here and am very satisfied.
Thank you so much for your kind words and I was delighted that you returned to visit us and found everything to your satisfaction. Please do come and see us again when you are next in Bournemouth.
Our room was comfortable, clean and adequate for the one night we planned to stay. Breakfast was good, full English or Continental. Staff very pleasant and took my comment about no surface areas in the bathroom positively. I would also say I'd want a good light above the mirror in the bedroom, so I can sit down and put my make up on and blow dry my hair, rather than stand & bent over the basin.
Set back one road from the seafront in the quieter end of town, we were able to walk to the sea.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. It is so encouraging for the team at the hotel when customers appreciate their efforts and then take the trouble to write a review. Thank you from all the staff! please come and see us again and keep recommending us to your colleagues.
Lovely bedroom, excellent meals. Main lounge a bit cool but the main doors open into it. Would recommend to anyone who wanted a not too expensive hotel for business or just a few days away. Easy walk to East Cliff with views over the bay or walk down to the beach.
Thank you for your generous comments about the hotel. It is particularly satisfying to read that our repeat customers are still singing our praises. Thank you from all the team at the hotel and please do come visit us again
