Well i must say i wasnt looking forward to our stay at the Heathlands after reading the reviews but i expected the worst and actually got a little better than i was expecting....Hey look, we paid £50.00 for a Saturday night stay for a family of 4 inc breakfast, yes the Hotel is dirty, dated, rundown and needs millions spending on it to bring it up to any kind of quality. My advice is DO NOT spend over £50.00 a night for a family room if you do you will be very disappointed. Oh and the food was actually okay!

the dirtiest smelliest room i have ever stayed in. bathroom stunk of urine, the bed of dead bodies. The floor and walls were filthy - the noise of the pipes outside the room were louder than a train. it was cheap - but disgusting

Came here for the weekend with family and friends. The hotel has some good and bad points. Good points... the food is nice, the staff are friendly and helpful and the bed was comfortable after I got more pillows. Bad points. ..needs a good clean and refresh. Tv very dated though it did work. Window in our room didn't shut properly but luckily it was really hot in the room. I wouldn't stay here more than a couple of nights. Ok to lay your head and eat but that's about it

11 of us stayed here for the weekend of 14th February - £55.00 per room for two nights bed, breakfast and evening meal plus 99p bar 6pm till 9pm. We had such a nice time we booked for the Sunday night as well - £37.50 per room bbem. We all had clean, comfortable rooms - varying shapes and sizes but perfectly adequate - one room had no heating but was changed as soon as reception were made aware . Our room had no hot water on the Saturday evening (had been ok the night before and in the morning) so we were given the option to change rooms or have a key to another room to use the hot water there - we took the latter as I really couldn't be bothered packing up to change rooms (for such a short stay) so they gave us a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful - on the Sunday night the 6 bedded suite became available so they offered it to three of our party (who had previously been in a twin and a double paying a single supplement) for £57.50 for the room to include bed, breakfast and evening meal - and the room was lovely!!! The food was good....buffet style but a nice choice (always a vegetarian option and choices such as fish\chicken\beef\curry\pasta) and the dining room was comfortable. Entertainment was ok and was only on the Friday night (when we won the quiz and a bottle of wine!!!!) - the other nights we were given the option of going to the sister hotel to join in the entertainment there - as there were 11 of us we were quite happy to stay where we were. Yes, the hotel is tired in parts and the rooms were dated but you have to take into account what we paid - we thought it was excellent value. Located close to the beach and shops we had a lovely time. We were anxious about going after reading some of the reviews but we have no regrets and our only grumble is that the time just went too quickly. For us, 11 friends who wanted a cheep and cheerful weekend away we were pleasantly surprised especially after reading such negative reviews.

Room Tip: Rooms on the lower floors tended to fare better with the water pressure.
