We stayed the Cumberland Hotel on a special Travel Zoo deal for £68.00 dinner bed and breakfast, the staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them and the food was amazing, my husband is the most fussiest of eaters but the dinner you could not fault, he had steak, he said it was the best one he has had in years, cooked to perfection, the room was lovely, and the lounge was a very peaceful place to sit with really comfortable sofas, all in all could not fault anything and we really cannot wait to go back.

Room Tip: Higher floors are the best as you can have a sea view

We have just got back from a lovely nights stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we had was nice and clean very good value for money with a nice view and the balcony was a nice touch. Breakfast was very nice and easy as you just helped yourself. Will defiantly come back as had a lovely weekend.

We stayed at the Cumberland as a birthday treat for friends, booking two double rooms. Both rooms were tastefully decorated in the art deco style, being a pleasant change from the standard type of (magnolia) hotel room. The beds were very comfortable and rooms had all the amenities that one would expect (TV-Tea and Coffee etc. and a large en suite). The evening dinner was superb with fresh ingredients and great attention to detail, served in a beautifully decorated dining room all in the art deco style which brought a smile to your face as you walked in. There was a comprehensive breakfast bar which had everything one could wish for. Throughout our stay, all the staff were efficient, cheerful and helpful. We will certainly be back. John B

Just back from a two day package at the Cumberland with my wife and sister and brother-in-law.
As other reviewers have said parking can be a problem but I managed to park in the next door hotels car park. The staff are very nice and the checking in quick. The evening meal on the Sunday night very good had the roast rib eye just perfect breakfast were more than enough buffet style every thing you might want from cereals to full English.

Room Tip: 419 has a dripping sound you hear when trying to sleep think it is coming from the adjoining room.

We had a night here with my brother and his partner from Canada on the amazing TravelZoo deal - incredible value. We paid the extra £20 per room for two rooms on the front with balconies. Both rooms had four posters and we had a suite with a large sitting area. Although the weather was showery, the views were wonderful, and the service and the food were as usual great. We felt really cherished - the receptionist even remembered me from last time. OK, the bathrooms are a bit quirky, and the lift is the smallest I have ever seen, but this is all part of the experience of staying in an Art Deco gem.

Room Tip: We had two rooms on the top floor - 405 & 411. 405 is the suite, and is on the corner of the bu...
