We stayed in this hotel for three nights, Only after we were moved from the suncliff hotel as they had no rooms left when we got there we were also moved to the sister hotel next door only to find the room only had a double bed in it and then had to go to the Cumberland , I was not very happy that no one let me no that the suncliff had over booked, but finally we were given a twin room. The hotel was fine but the bar prices were a bit over the top you would probably pay them prices in a nightclub but not a 3* hotel. over all the hotel was fine, But the room we were in was right by the extractor fans from the kitchen.I will say that we were given a complementary evening meal for free But only when i said it would be a nice thing to do after all the problems we had to finally get a room. We found a hotel just down the road that does 2 meals for ten pounds and the drinks are a lot cheaper. The Cliff View Hotel, Spot on food. Very Good pint

The Location is superb, being right on the beachfront. Service, bar areas, staff are excellent.
Food also very good.
Only things that could do with improvement were a) The lift, which was just about the smallest lift we've been in ( max 3 midgets ) and the room which was basic and dated, but very clean.
Will go again.

Stayed at The Cumberland last weekend, and was blown away by the style, friendly service and superb food. We were fortunate to have a sunny weekend and spent several days relaxing al fresco by the superb poolside.....reminds me of being away in Ibiza, they have a massive heated pool, chill beds and a superb Brasserie which serves fresh food and drinks all day, staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble...obviously well trained. Our room was a standard but more than adequate and also recently redecorated...very clean and simple but comfortable. Got a great rate on the hotel website and have definitly found my place on the coast. there were a few celebs staying at the time and they just mingled with guests totally at ease...was an added bonus to our weekend, all in all i highly recommend this place for a superb few days away..WELL DONE guys!

After holding a business drinks reception at The Cumberland Hotel last evening, I found the staff to be extremely attentive, the service was great. The bedroom I was appointment was very clean and roomy with a super balcony with a lovely view out to sea. The food was well cooked and tasty and again the staff in the dining room couldn't do enough for us.

This hotel is also somewhere I would certainly recommend on a personal level, the decor is stunning and the Oceana room with the beautiful domed ceiling is fabulous, just perfect for any evening event.

I would certainly hold another event at The Cumberland and a big thank you to Brian Robbins and his staff who looked after us so well.

I'ts good to stay in a hotel thats got some personality, a good look maximising on the art deco building that's a little different to all the bland corporate hotels. We had a good room with balcony overlooking the sea, but it's the public areas, terrace and pool that do it for me, comfortable and busy, plenty going on.

All the staff we encountered were very helpful in an unstuffy friendly way.

OK needed to go to somewhere that had a good location, noticed this hotel on lastminute room with seaview - however hotel actually has the seaview not the room, great location easy access and fairly straightforward to find. Staff really friendly, rooms needed a bit more i dont know comfort, saying that they were not bad but could have been better. Summary if you want good food and service, central location with sea views from the outside, this is your place, i would come back again, and probably will do. Price was £55 B&B which is not bad compared to what you can pay, oh and its a T mobile hotspot.
