The positives - quite a lot of onsite parking, friendly and professional staff, reasonable value, reasonable food & a spacious bedroom.

The major negative - we had absolutely NO SLEEP due to the shocking absence of acoustic insulation between rooms and floors. You could hear conversations from all adjoining rooms, even drawers being slid shut, but the 'icing on the cake' was the stag party above who held a noisy gathering in their room from 5 a.m. for 2 hours. We have lived and stayed in countless older properties before of all eras (i.e. long before acoustic buildings regulations), each with varying degrees of later insulation which does temper noise levels, but never as non-existent & noisy as the Queens Hotel. The hotel is fully aware because they have a poster up offering ear plugs (which made no difference due to impact sound of feet), and the night porter did ask the group above to quieten down, but all to no avail. We gladly departed as early as possible.

Perhaps guests respectful of others stay in the week, away from weekends, but we won't be visiting this hotel again.

Room Tip: Don't stay on Fridays & Saturdays, and ensure that you are on the top floor.

Thank you for leaving feedback for us. We are glad you were happy with most of your experience at the Queens hotel. Sadly, it's unfortunate that it must have been a busy night with a few groups staying with us when you stayed. We rarely hear that the noise is this much of a nuisance and we're very sorry that you won't be returning. However, should you decide to return, we would be more than happy to accommodate you in a refurbished room, on the top floor. Thank you.

We stayed at the queens hotel on a spa deal. It was terrible. The room was old and run down and felt dirty. It was a real let down. I would not choose to stay here again. We had breakfast however most of the hot items were cold as was the coffee. Our stay was not an enjoyable, relaxing time but rather wanted to leave straight away.

The spa was great and treatment was lovely too. We would come back for a spa day but not overnight. The rooms and service let it down completely.

I stayed here on a business trip and very much enjoyed the stay. My room was on the 4th floor, very spacious and looked to have been refurbished. The only drawback was the lack of heating as the radiator was not working. I was quickly given a heater when I mentioned this to reception. I also requested a bathrobe which was also delivered to my room, excellent service. Breakfast was lovely and offered everything to hand, a self service buffet. The hotel seem popular with large groups staying. I ate in the bar a couple of evenings served by the excellent bar staff. The car park seemed a little too small for the numbers staying at the hotel, as quite often cars were blocked in by other vehicles.

Thank you so much for your excellent review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We will pass on your feedback to our staff too. We are very lucky to be able to offer the majority of our guests parking, as parking is very limited in Bournemouth hotels. Sometimes when it's very busy, we do allow guests to double park, providing they let us know. Thank you again for taking the time to post a review and we do hope to see you again in the future.

The service in the restaurant was a little slow and I didn't take advantage of the Spa facilities, otherwise it was a very enjoyable stay.
Staff were polite and friendly, room comfortable and clean and tidy

I had to stay in Bournemouth recently for business and decided to take my family and book into a family hotel. This hotel was recommended to us by some friends that stayed there last year.

Whilst I was on business during the day my family used the pool area, and my wife had a spa treatment which she said was great. The family room we had was a little dated but very comfortable and the location was very close to the beach and the town. The breakfast we had was very good indeed, we did not eat in the restaurant in the evening so cannot comment on the food although my wife heard some other guest say that it was good. Probably better than the place where we ate in the town.

Although we're British we live in the USA and I would say that it was comparable to most hotels I stay at in the US. The staff did seem to be enjoying their job which is important. I would recommend this hotel to a family if you want to stay by the sea.

As a family, we had an excellent time on Mothers Day in the restaurant. Decor was just lovely. Lunch was absolutely delicious and plentiful. Restaurant staff very attentive. Reception staff very welcoming. Talented pianist entertained us throughout. Even flowers presented to all the Mothers! Everything was totally perfect. My 10 year old granddaughter was made especially welcome. Thanks to everyone involved.

Paid 120 pounds for 3 nights in a single room, no problems with the room, apart from excessively hot,and window shook every time a gust of wind whipped up, but hey ho. The lift however was the most annoying thing,as my room was close to it, every time the doors opened there was a terrible scraping noise, and inside the lift door a huge scratch, so obviously, something is scraping along the door every time it opened and closed, i would fix that, especially as there are guests bedrooms within close proximity, The bar was very relaxing and drinks good price, apart from the general managers office in the bar,and i heard some poor lad who worked there getting fired from his job, not good when guests around hearing that. Did not use the pool and stuff, As i was relatively young man on my own, i felt a bit out of place, the hotel does seem to lean towards the older generation more, or maybe that was me, think more of a mixture of ages would be nicer. Overall a good hotel, that commands an impressive location, which is why i chose to stay. Would i stay again, with all respects... No.

Thank you for your review. We are more than happy to relocate our guests (if possible) if unhappy with the room they have been given, by just contacting reception and expressing your wishes. We are glad you found the bar relaxing, and we do have a very wide range of guests that stay with us, in the summer months especially you will see more families. If you did visit Bournemouth again we would be only too happy to offer you one of our newly refurbished rooms. Please do speak to our Duty Manager and hopefully we can restore your faith in The Queens Hotel.
