“Lovely night away”
Reviewed 13 November 2011

We stayed at the hotel under a Groupon deal but would definitely go back and have actually bought a night at the hotel for my brother and sister in law as a Christmas present as so sure they will share our view. The hotel is beautifully decorated and our room was a little small but clean, simple and smart. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was very good and reasonable as was the house wine unlike many restaurants these days. Breakfast was lovely too and all the staff were extremely helpful and attentive. The location was fantastic a 15 minute walk along the beach to the centre of bournemouth and with ample parking I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We stayed at the hotel as a Groupon deal, and paid the extra for a seaview room. We were very lucky with the weather - a cloudless blue sky, which was remarkable for late October. The hotel has had a lot of money spent on it and the bar, restaurant etc are decorated beautifully. Our room (30) was very nice, although a bit small. Our only disappointment was not having a proper shower - apparently some rooms do but not ours. We were offered the chance to change rooms, but as it was only for one night we did not bother. The room was quiet, with comfortable beds and had lovely soft fluffy towels.
We also had dinner in the restaurant and the food quality and service was very good, as was breakfast.
The hotel is walking distance from Bournemouth, but it would probably take about 20mins each way, but it is a nice walk along the seafront.

Room Tip: Worth paying the upgrade to a seaview room - stunning views and the higher the floor the better it w...

After booking the hotel via a Groupon Voucher offer I read the reviews on Tripadvisor so I guess I knew what I was expecting before arrival. The lounge, bar and dining areas were decorated in a very stylish "boutique" manner but the bedrooms have yet to be bought upto the same stylish specification. Having said that the bedroom was large and clean with great sea views and yes like many other Trip advisor comments the water pressure from the shower was low, however, the hotel was aware of this and were in dialogue with the local water authority. For a short inexpensive break the hotel offered good value, food and service. It was located a short 10 minute walk from the town centre and numerous restaraunts.

Room Tip: Try the afternoon tea, it is devine

Fantastic hotel absolutely superb. Splendid decor, clean and well presented.
The staff were fantastic, really went out of their way to make you feel welcome, nothing was to much trouble.
We had lunch and breakfast at the hotel and both were tasty and fantastic value for money.
Great location right on the seafront with just a 15 minute walk into the centre of the town along the stunning beachfront.
If I return tho Bournemouth I will definitely stay at the Cottonwood Boutique Hotel.
Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

We booked this hotel as part of a Groupon deal. At £59 per couple for bed and breakfast we thought that we were getting a great deal, especially as this was less than half the cost of a standard room at normal cost.

There is a reason that the cost is low, I'd imagine that they are struggling to get customers any other way.

The rooms are basic, will unmatching furniture, poor furnishings and little attention to detail. The bed was uncomfortable and its safe to say that i'd have had a better wash in the sea than in the trickle which they call a shower.

Breakfast was swimming in grease and was honestly the worst full English that I have ever had.

Would i be back? Not unless it was free!

We stayed in this hotel for one night and had dinner in the restaurant. When we first arrived we were impressed with the decor and the friendly welcome. The room was ok but was lacking some attention to detail like the toilet roll holder hanging off the wall, the toilet seat was loose, the noisy fan and the curtains which were 3 feet too long.

The restaurant was nicely decorated and the food was nicely presented but the steak I had was terribly tough. We had to wait for over 15 mins for a cocktail which came without a straw, when I asked for one they didn't have any. Trying to drink a cocktail made up mainly of ice isn't easy.

The staff seem to be hard working and the decor and location is good, it's just let down by silly things
