“Breakfast was a highlight”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2012

This was better than average but not as good as very good.

One night with my son in a clean and modern(ish) room. Breakfast was a highlight, and my son particularly liked the numerous interesting chairs scattered around the hotel and the knight in shining armour in the lobby.

Great views, well appointed with a nice outside garden I would recommend for a weekend in the town.

Downside was a lack of real service and the shower was rubbish.

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for two nights whilst we were flat hunting in Bournemouth. We found the staff very friendly and helpful especially the young lady on reception. Anyone staying at the hotel or inBournemouth must have dinner there. The food is first class and the staff extremely professional. If there was anything negative about our stay it would be it is very hard to get a drink in the bar after 18.00hrs when the regular barman goes off duty and we had to ask for lemon in the G&T's. Room 3 is too small to be classed as a double room. Our stay was most enjoyable and we will stay there again.

Room Tip: If you are a couple do not have room 3. Far too small and too much furniture in a tiny space.

I booked this hotel based on the words luxury boutique hotel, I would disagree with all these words.

There was no luxury on the shoe box sized room I was given, dispite the hotel being less then half full.

The bathroom was tiny, there was no to put my toiletries bag and there wasn't even a toilet roll holder.

The room service menu consisted of sandwiches, so I thought I would try the bar food. That was a waste of time as I sat in the bar for over ten minutes and no one came to serve me so I went to a takeaway for my dinner instead.

The only positive was the breakfast and the staff working the breakfast shift.

We love the Cottonwood and The Ocean View. The decor is gorgeous, the food fantastic and the staff so friendly and helpful. Management can't do enough for you. Fantastic views from lovely rooms and great all round service. Nice quieter part of town and less hilly than the West Cliff. Highly Recommended.

Room Tip: Family rooms are spacious in the Cottonwood

We only visited this hotel for one night but had a lovely welcome and as we wanted o be close I family we were given a choice of rooms which was great. We chose a room overlooking the sea and although very cold it looked fabulous! Lovely staff in bar area and on reception. It took about 15mins to walk to the pier/town. Our only negative point was that the bed wasn't very comfortable and neither were the pillows.... Although knowing this we would still go back.

We stayed at this hotel for one night! the hotels decor is beautiful and invites you inside. There are some parking spaces around the hotel. The building has easy access to the beach although there is a little walk involved.

The staff is very friendly although the bathroom could be a little cleaner. The room was quite small and the view from the windows was to opposite building but I guess we only stayed in the room for the night time.

The restaurant is very good. Dinner was a little pricey but really worth it! The food tasted beautifully and it was served very nicely.

Would definitely return!

Stayed in a bigger room on third floor during the summer, my recent stay visit was on 1st floor in a room not as nice. Lovely staff and decent value for money. Great decor downstairs and well presented breakfast. Stayed with young child on trip before and well looked after by staff. Location great for nearby Old Christchurch Road and near to the sea.

Room Tip: Get sea-facing
