My Husband and I booked the Cottonwood Boutique Hotel in Bournemouth for our New year Celebrations. Our stay was very comfortable with a sea view room. The food was excellent for the New Year Celebrations and the following evening. The snack menu offered an good choice. The breakfast was a little disappointing in that the hot food was kept in hot containers to help yourself and the food was just warm, not really hot!! Also I would have liked to see more choice of yoghurt with the fresh food (there was literally a small bowl with plain yoghurt) apart from that the service was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel and certainly will return. Lovely seafront location and many shops a 15 min walk away.

Room Tip: Corner rooms have larger bathrooms I believe. Our bathroom was a little small but nothing to worry...

We booked this year for Christmas Lunch at the CottonWood Boutique Hotel, I wasnt over familiar with this hotel but the reviews looked good.

I wanted to write that the Christmas Day Lunch was fantastic, my other half being a real foody occasions like this are important. The 5 course meal was lovely each course was appropriately sized, served hot and with excellent flavours. The price was fair and we would definately go back again in 2014.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel was very clean and the decor was bright and interesting.

Dear Dayna
Many thanks for your feedback and delighted you enjoyed Christmas Day lunch.
Do keep us in mind next time you are popping out for dinner; maybe Valentines would be of interest to you or our Wine and Dine menu which offers great value at 2 courses and a glass of wine for £14.95 per person.
Best wishes

Lovely traditional style hotel - decor is fascinating, location right on the cliff top, and a good atmosphere.
The staff were all friendly & welcoming.
The food was excellent.
We had a seaview room which was extremely comfortable & cosy, and had great views to Isle of Wight one way, and Old Harry Rocks the other.

Stayed here on the 30th and 31st December in room 21. Had read the reviews and thought it would be ok for a short break. First impressions were not good with a very small reception area and not asked if we wanted any help with our bags, we asked for a sea view room which we got.
The room was quite small with a shower only. It had only one easy chair, small flat screen tv with freeview channels. The bed was very comfortable, but the rest of the room was badly in need of a bit of some TLC.
Breakfast was good, excellent choice and well cooked, we had dinner on the first night which again was good food with good service. The bar and dining areas were nicely decorated and felt very cosy.
The lift was as described by others, antique, small with a manual metal sliding gate on the inside.
We did not go for the New Years Eve five course dinner the following night and thought that we would be able to get something from the bar menu, but we were wrong as when we asked the staff they said the bar menu was off tonight, so at 7.30 pm on new years eve we had to leave the hotel and find something to eat. There was no information given to say the bar menu was off that evening.
We have been to many different hotels but I just felt the staff did nothing to make our stay special.

Room Tip: This hotel is set back from the sea front with a road running along the cliff top between it and the...

Stayed one night after Christmas. Had a double & twin rooms. Was upgraded to a sea view, without asking - very impressive!
On arrival reception efficient but could have been a little more welcoming.
Boutique is probably a disguise for a traditional decor! However, hotel is in very good order and very clean. Bedrooms are a reasonable size and have all the facilities - tv; tea/coffee making, with nescafe & quality tea bags. Beds & pillows very comfortable.
Bathrooms a little small, but they were certainly no smaller than some of the budget hotels! Facilities in good order and clean, although the showers lacked power.
Public rooms spacious of traditional style [1980's] but all in good order. Lounge bar overlooks the sea.
Breakfast, again, welcome could have been more outgoing - I had to say "hello" first! That aside, the staff were efficient and the quality of breakfast very good. Buffet style, full English, with a good choice. Food quality excellent.
This is an old building, so it will be quirky and floor boards will creak, but it has character, it is well run and offers good value. Will certainly return and a pleasent change from standard chain hotels.

Booked for Christmas day lunch with family for a party of 9, having never been to the Hotel before. I know the Cumberland, so I hoped it would be good, and we weren't disappointed. The staff worked incredibly hard to ensure everyone had good service and the food was overall very good and everyone was pleased. There was a good atmosphere and a cosy lounge for drinks before and after our meal. It definitely made a really pleasant and relaxing change for Christmas day and I liked the Boutique decor.
