Loved the flamboyant and creative décor in entrance, lounge bar and dining area. Felt at home immediately. Great location next to the cliff tops. Staff friendly and professional. We really enjoyed our delicious three course meal offer with glass of wine -excellent!. The salmon fishcake starter was truly delicious, best fishcakes I've tasted and our mains (steak and pork) were cooked to perfection with ample portions of vegetables. The treacle pudding with ice cream, was really scrumptious , melt in the mouth. The rooms were immaculate and tastefully decorated. Yes,when I next come to Bournemouth,I will certainly stay here, as it felt special and unique and food was excellent and good value..

We visited The Cottonwood for 1 night having stayed the night before a few doors down at the fantastic Cumberland. It was a real contrast!

We arrived to a quick check in, more of a cubby hole than a Reception desk but we realised this is a boutique hotel and this might be the case. The lift was horrid so we only used that the once on the way up to the room and carried cases back down.

We stayed in room 18, and sadly the sea view is ruined by some very intrusive scaffolding which was a shame. We noticed there was a plastic food container lid on the floor in the corner which made us a little uneasy about the quality of the cleaning, made even worse when we found biscuit crumbs all over one of the bedspreads. We asked for an iron to be brought to the room which had to be chased up and the first one was dangerously faulty. The bed was really small for a double and very uncomfortable. It wasn't a great start.

We attended a function and the bar staff and service staff in the restaurant were great as were some of the communal areas. I imagine this hotel is a different experience if you are just in fir dinner.

I'm a big fan of pink but this hotel is a little too much for me. I'm not sure who the target audience really is as everyone I was with of all ages agreed it was overdone. I would rather see some more effort in the rooms where a bit more attention to detail could make this a much better hotel. Breakfast was ok - there was a slow replenishment at 9am on a Sunday so I had to wait but it wasn't a massive problem.

The only real positive was the price, it was very reasonable, but personally I would pay the extra £30 for a cleaner room and a more relaxed overall setting in one of the other seafront hotels.

We had an overnight stay to celebrate a family birthday, it couldn't have been better nice size room with a lovely sea view, spotlessly clean. We had dinner and breakfast both excellently cooked and served, staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We also booked in for an afternoon tea before we left, best one I've ever had, we would all highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Make sure your room has a bathroom with a shower curtain for obvious reasons

Dear Julie B
Many thanks for your comments, I'm delighted that you had a wonderful time at the hotel.

The food is rather lovely isn't it, we're just about to launch our new menu so you might want to pop in soon and sample it. Lots of choice, something for everyone and available throughout the day and evening.

We look forward to welcoming you back very soon.

Best wishes.

Second time we have stayed at this hotel. Sea views - from some rooms. Less than a mile from the centre and a lovely walk along the cliff tops. Staff were friendly and helpful with very quick service when the door key didn't work. Only gripe was the extremely squeaky floorboards! Ours and room above.
Stayed on first floor in superking bed sized and twin rooms both were spotless with Quirky décor with modern bathrooms. Hotel was busy for a Saturday at the start of March and there was a party/wedding event going on but music was stopped at midnight. Can't comment on food as restaurant not used. Currently scaffolding around outside of hotel as I think the outside is being painted but didn't obscure our sea view.
Will definitely stay there again

Room Tip: Top Floor as you wont have the squeaky floorboards from above!!

Thank you for your positive comments, delighted you enjoyed your second visit to the hotel. You must try dinner on your next visit; we're launching our new menu over the coming weeks so well worth booking in for if you have time.
The scaffolding is due to come down over the coming weeks; painting and redecorating being done which is good to see.
I do hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back again to the Cottonwood in the near future.
Best wishes.

Following a long drive from London, we arrived late at the Cottonwood Boutique to a warm, professional and friendly welcome. We loved the decor and unique style of the lobby, restaurant and bar; cozy for a romantic weekend! Our room was clean, spotless with an amazing view of the sea. Although the hotel was busy, there was an ore of peacefulness. The staff always seemed to make sure we did not want for anything to make sure our stay was a memorable one! We also highly recommend the evening meal. The food was a 5 Star rating. Our compliments to the Chef! We will be returning as promised! Thank you to all staff for making a Special birthday, very Special!

Room Tip: Our room was situated in the 3rd floor where the view of the sunrise over looking the sea was awesom...

The hotel was nicely furnished and charmingly decorated. Staff were pleasant and hospitable. Our evening meal was good and breakfast was very good. The location was good for access to the beach. The only slight criticism; we arrived twenty minutes before the advertised check in time of 2pm and were told rather abruptly we would have to wait, there was no offer to check if our room was already ready. I would recommend this hotel.

Excellent hotel, good value, very pleasant, hard working, helpful staff. Ideally situated for us, about 15 mins walk to town, 10 mins to the beach and plenty of parking. Breakfast and evening meal were excellent far better than coach company fare.
We've read about the squeaky floorboards, and they do, but it didn't bother us.
Our room was good with a sea view, obviously can't say what others are like.
All in all we really really enjoyed our stay and we will go back.
