“*****A fantasic Hotel*****”
Reviewed 13 March 2011

My husband and I have just returned from a weekend break at the Norfolk Royale to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and had the most amazing stay. We could not find a single fault with this hotel - It was pure luxuary! The room ( no.003) was beautiful with a flat screen telly, king size bed, beautiful bathroom ( stocked with Molton Brown toiletries), mini bar and plenty of storage space.
We made use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room which were kept clean and tidy at all times.
The restuarant was second to none. I can not speak highly enough of the service and quality of the food and drink. There is 3 menus to choose from and there is something for everyone. Breakfast was a buffet offering a full English but there was also a selection of fruit, pastiries and cerels. There was also a selection of tea's, coffees and juices.
The hotel location was brilliant too. It was in the centre of town with a short walk to the beach.
All in all we had a fantastic stay and will be returning very soon. Thank you for 5 star service we had an amazing anniversary.

We arrived Friday evening and checked in. We were on the 3rd floor, so took the lift. The room was great, really spacious. The bathroom was light, with a bath and shower. I loved the Molton and Brown complimentary shower/bath wash!

We had a 3 course evening meal, which we chose from a menu with a good selection of dishes. The food was of very high quality and presented on the plate beautifully. The waiters, waitresses were very attentive and friendly.

Breakfast was full english buffet, with also cereals, pastries, fresh fruit - very impressive.

I bought this trip as a belated birthday present for my other half and we couldn't fault any of it - would definately go back.

Stayed recently on two separate occasions with friends. All rooms and public areas clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Food quality very good with large portions. Easy walk into town and beach. Will definately return. Please note rooms to avoid 301,302 & 314
as they are affected by the noisy kitchen extractors.

Thank you for your comments, I am sorry you were affected by the extractor fans, these are normally only on until 10pm, but will make sure this is checked by our maintenance department.

Visited on business for 8 days. First evening waited in excess of an hour for the food to be served and found the selection very limited.
Guys on the bar were very polite but witnessed a man off reception shouting at one of them in full view of customers-not a good look!
Room was fantastic and clean. I would go back for the location and room quality but not for the food!

Having stayed here a number of times on business decided to take my wife and although many of the aspects of the hotel were favourable I would caution the following...
1. Squeaky floor boards in corridor and bad noise insulation between rooms made sleep very difficult
2. Windows in our room rattling with the wind made things worse (bad weather during our visit admittedly!)
3. Restaurant (for breakfast since we ate out each evening) was tired and crowded while the breakfast itself was plentiful but constantly being topped up and not terribly exciting.
Summary? Stayed in better but ok.

After a brilliant "Gold Voucher" weekend last year at the Bull Hotel in Peterborough we decided to take advantage again this year. I cannot speak highly enough of the Norfolk Royale. The staff were extremely efficient and friendly. Our room and bathroom were impressive (The Molton & Brown products were pure luxury). Bed was really comfortable. Food in the restaurant was amazing. We made use of the pool, the steam room and the sauna. The hotel is in an excellent location just off the town centre and a short walk to the seafront. We had such a wonderful time, we will be back! I would recommend this hotel to anybody.
