“Much need of a refurbish”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

Location is excellent, but decor is in much need of a refurbish. Everything worked in our room, but it's been years since a last saw a non flat screen TV. Reception staff very helpful, at lunchtime we had the club sandwich which was excellent.

Constant pulsing low-level machinery hum made sleep a stop start affair. The breakfast service is not designed for people in any sort of a hurry. Toiletries not replenished, which is just stingy, as is the lack of free wi-fi in the room in this day and age. Creaky floors, faded splendour, a whopping £5 tray charge for room service.

I've stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend and parents three times now and we absolutely love it! The location is excellent right in the centre of town, the rooms are always nice (HUGE TVs), the food is excellent and the pool area is small but perfect for a quick dip. It's the perfect hotel for a stress free mini break! Look out for Peel Hotel deals - they are always amazing value!

Had a lovely afternoon at this hotel for afternoon tea. We started off with a glass of champagne each, followed by a pot of tea and then sandwiches, cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam. Absolutely perfect. The setting was great as well as the service. We had a couple of drinks at the bar which were a bit pricey but then I guess that is hotel prices. Would definately come back again.

Booked a 2 night stay mainly for it's location for walking into the centre of Bournemouth which is very good.,
Executive room was ok but what made it executive,I'm not sure, stayed in many 3 star hotels of the same standard. We were on the 3rd floor and had to put up with a constant drone coming from the roof area.
Food was what you would expect, nothing really out of the ordinary.
I would not book the underground car park unless you drive a small car.The entry/exit is ridiculously tight, the scrapes on the walls are testimony to this.
Very average.

Room Tip: Avoid the 3rd floor.

We arrived early and our room was ready. Service was excellent and the food in the restaurant was first class. Dinner needs to be earlier so that guests can attend concerts without rushing. The rooms do need updating especially with flat-screen TV's, but they were extremely comfortable and an ideal Hotel to stay for all the amenities of Bournemouth.

Room Tip: Make sure you book the best rooms which are larger.

i have spent a considerable time in this hotel over the past 12 years on business. It has always been quirky in that you do not know what to expect but the uncertainty was tempered by a friendly and enthusiastic welcome. Not this time. Staff appear to have all changed and it is a very regimented regime. We had 5 rooms booked - two people had to come back to reception as their door key cards would not work again not a friendly response from reception. While my room was ok two of my colleagues had single beds in rooms in which 'you could not swing a cat'.

We asked if we could have food from the restaurant menu served to us in the lobby area (place was empty) and were told this was not possible. We went to a nice Italian instead and spent £250 on food and drink - silly loss of money.
Honestly, I do not think I will go back - disappointing and in my view it is just an average 3 star hotel.

Room Tip: ensure the hotel communciate to you exactly what type of room you are getting before you confirm boo...
