Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel
Ranked #39 of 67 Hotels in Bournemouth
Reviewed 15 April 2012

Recently visited the Highcliffe with my boyfriend as a treat for my 21st birthday(on the 13th of April) The hotel is a in a fantastic location right on the seafront, we stayed on the 3rd floor in a sea view room and the views were fantastic, while laid in bed we could see out to sea. Although it was an expensive room I thought the views were worth it and wish we could have stayed longer than one night. The facilities were really good, I just wish it could have been a little warmer so we could have used the outdoor pool. The only complaint I do have is having to pay £10 to park in the Hotel car park, I think when paying £190 a night for a room the parking should be included. I would stay here again but only for special occasions and couldn't afford more than one night!

Room Tip: room 323 had amazing views!

We had a lovely two night stay here in late March over a glorious weekend weather-wise.
We were impressed with the very good service, excellent customer service and immaculate room overlooking the sea.
We hadn't expected especially great food but were proved wrong as the dinner was excellent, beautifully cooked and just the right amount.
The location is a huge bonus as the setting really is wonderful. We will definitely be staying again for a longer weekend. Well done Marriott Bournemouth!

Stopped for a single night 31st March (saturday night). Really nice traditional old fashioned british seaside hotel. Great view cable car type train down the cliffs and onto the beach. Room very clean everything worked. Very friendly helpful staff. Restaurant very good without being over expensive. Would definetly stay again perhaps for a bit longer. Only down side parking is more like central london really difficult to get a space

Room Tip: pay extra for a sea view room the view is worth it.

Have just returned from an Easter weekend at this hotel where we had a really great time. The location is perfect, a few minutes stroll down to the beach or the town. Room had great sea views, nice size room and very comfortable. Only gave the sleep quality a good rating as I am a very light sleeper, no reflection on the hotel really. The breakfasts were superb, plenty of choice and freshly cooked. Husband had an omelette, not from the general buffet, but made for him and it was excellent. The staff make all the difference to a hotel and those at the Highcliffe Marriott are extremely friendly and helpful, really nice people. The only slight downside to this hotel are the parking arrangements - a tiny car park for a pretty big hotel, but the staff are very helpful when it comes to parking when the car park is full. Would heartily recommend staying here.

You can't get a better location in Bournemouth, and we had a very pleasant stay there. We were fortunate enough to have a sea view room which was comfortable and nicely sized. The staff are very friendly and fall over themselves trying to help you. I understand it's actually hard to find a nice place to stay in Bournemouth, but if you choose this Marriott you will not be sorry. One thing, though -- there is no free internet anywhere in the hotel -- not even the lobby. You will spend 15L/day for it.

First time here at The Marriott Highcliff after years of staying in other hotels in the Bournemouth & Poole area & this was easily the best one I have stayed at. Attention to detail seems to be the name of the game here. Lobby was large & welcoming & quite homely rather than corporate. Checkin was prompt & correct ( not sure about up sell of £30 fee for sea view room - politely declined) Allocated room 318 in the main building which was fairly large & roomy.

Great bed & nice clean linens. Good curtains cleverly fastened with Velcro so they closed well & kept out the morning sunlight. Bathroom was fine although it looked like the floor was in need of regrooting. Fridge & kettle for tea & coffee and desk area for business or letter writing I guess. 2 armchairs which you could sit in front of tv and actually had room to use them.

Small wait for breakfast owing to Sunday morning crowds but kept informed and duly seated at great table overlooking the sea, what a view - there was also outside tables if you liked the cool breeze or if you were a smoker !! The cooked breakfast buffet was spot on , eggs cooked to order of your choice, all the hot items were perfect , great pastries, breads, waffles, fruits & cheeses etc. Very impressed with the spread. Could not fault.

Unfortunately, the car park is quite small & seems to be slight valet, it was also £10 so managed to park on nearby street which is free till 10 am but do check signs. Really good gyms & not 1 but 2 pools (inside & out). Did manage a swim in the outside pool which was heated & had excellent views over Bournemouth's wonderful beaches, nice terrace too but not warm enough for sunbathing. The staff were excellent & would return again for a special treat.

Had a three day holiday in Bournemouth to see a concert. Had a room with a fantastic view. Dinner at the restaurant was perfect. Very good fish followed by dessert. Also there is a nice bar in the hotel. Overall, this is perfect for a seaside holiday.
