“Lovely hotel with just a few minor niggles but didn't affect our stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

We booked room 10 which was the deluxe king room, on arriving we were shown 2 rooms but both were double rooms, our room had been given to someone else by mistake and it was the only room of that type and we had booked 6 months in advance and specifically booked the room and paid extra for it, the guests who had our room had gone out for the day so we had to wait for the management to contact them, after a couple of hours we returned and the other guests luggage had been removed and we were let in the room, the other couple still had the key though and the management had to use a piece of plastic to get in as no spare key (!!) which is a bit worrying security wise. The room was lovely and spacious with a big flat screen tv, 2 bedside cabinets, a dressing table and wardrobe with ensuite shower. The bed was 2 singles pushed together but this didn't bother us, bedding nice and clean, Minor problems ,only 2 smallish bath towels supplied, no hand towel, the taps in the sink moved when you used them, in the evening the shower was great, hot and powerful, at 8.30 in the morning it was freezing with hardly any pressure, tried 15 minutes later and it was working ok, a bit of a pain having to wait though. Didn't have much sleep as there was a hen party that made loads of noise outside when coming in and for a few hours in the rooms nearby, I'm sure I noticed somewhere that they didn't have single sex parties, but this wasn't the case, the same women turned up in the morning for breakfast still wearing their bed clothes in the breakfast room which didn't seem right. Breakfast was served quickly and was really good, only gripe is that you have to make your own toast and it gets a bit congested in the corner waiting in a queue.
The staff are very friendly and attentive, everywhere is very clean, parking is a bit tight but is good that it is free if you are able to get a spot, bar area is nice, airy and clean, location is good as not far from seafront. Would definately stay again but only in room 10 as the other rooms we saw seemed a bit small. Would have been perfect if we had the right room on arrival and the other female guests weren't so noisy

Room Tip: if you are a couple ask for room 10 and pay the extra tenner, well worth it

14 members of our family stayed at the cecil court this weekend for a birthday celebration in Bournemouth. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, even kept the bar open late so we could watch England play in the World Cup. The rooms were really clean and the breakfast was brilliant, don't think ive quite seen a bigger one served. Thanks to all the staff for making it such a great stay, would highly recommend and will definately return.

A gem of an hotel. Staff very welcoming, hotel very clean , breakfast cooked to order and first class quality food. Ideal location to walk into the centre of Bournemouth.
A small cosy bar area to unwind in of an evening, very homely.

We have just returned form a very enjoyable stay here! We paid £60 for the night and were very impressed by the friendliness of the staff at the hotel. The breakfast was great and although our room was small, it was very clean. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach and the free onsite parking was great.

Just returned from staying two nights at this hotel. Ollie made us feel very welcome - showed us to our room, gave us good directions to the BIC and even booked us a restaurant on the second night - a great asset to the hotel. Richard, the owner, was equally friendly and also made us feel welcome.

As with other reviews parking can be a little tight with limited spaces, the hotel was very clean and the staff very friendly, the hotel is well situated for the BIC and other facilities, it is located in a fairly quiet road. A couple of minor niggles - we stayed in Room 12 and the tv was over the bed; also the shower had recently been refurbished but came out as a trickle. We pointed this out to Richard who seemed to genuinely care about our concern.

We would definitely return to this hotel in the future.
