Stayed for one night vey central but felt more like a hostel. Reception very shabby and off putting , room very small and in need of updating . Would benefit from proper clean . Staff friendly , and quickly moved me when I reported that the bed was broken , 2nd room much nicer with view of the sea and plenty of space,

I have stayed at the Russell Court Hotel on 3 occasions when the room rates used to be £25 per person, per night. For this price you could not really complain, the rooms were clean however very dated and small. The staff were okay however did not excel on their customer service.

It was a good location for a drinking weekend with the boyfriend, however I notice the prices have gone up and I would now not pay to sleep there.

I booked this hotel online and having read some of the reviews was a little apprehensive about staying there. How and ever on arrival I was pleasantly supprised. all staff were nice to deal with, especially Raimis in the bar and Arvn Sharma at reception were exceptionally helpful. The room was clean and well light.Breakfast was good too. I was delighted to be able to leave luggage after checking out and was quiet happy to pay the £2.00 charge. The hotel is in a great location, perhaps a little shappy on the outside but good value for money, I would stay there again even though the traffic noise was a little irritating at night.

The reception staff were very pleasant, however when we could not get the t.v. to work the person on the phone told us "obviously we didn't get it "when we followed his instructions and sent someone up to see to it.The room was in a quiet part of the hotel or so we thought until the second night when we were kept awake until after 1.30 in the morning by other guests below us screeching, shouting, etc. On one occasion when went up to our room to find the cleaner in. He was about to go without even making the bed until I asked him to . Five minutes later we put the chain lock on the door (as advised to by rules)and the housekeeper put her key in and forced the chain off the wall. Then laughed with her colleagues about it in the hallway. Perhaps they should learn to knock first? Photos on the website need updating because it shows an entertainment room. When we asked if there was any entertainment we were told no.The only positive about this hotel was it was in an excellant location near to the beach , shops, cinemas, etc.

We booked this hotel on line as a stop off on the way to Devon. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful the room was very clean and had everything you would need. It's a great location with a view of the sea. The corridors in the hotel however looked a little worn but this is no great problem and there is a parking charge of £5.00 but we found parking around the corner although limited pay and display from 09.00-1700.
