“Long sandy beach”
Reviewed 10 August 2011

If it hadn't been for the wind and the not very summery temperature, it would have been amazing. The beach is very long and on a clear day you can see Dover. I loved all the facilities (toiles everywhere, showers on the beach, huts, bike rent, little benches).
On a Summer day it's the place to be, much better than Brighton. To visit the pier one has to pay 60p, probably for the maintenance and Brighton Pier was better actually.

“Beautiful clean sandy beach”
Reviewed 10 August 2011

Ideal for everyone and very long plenty of food and drink venues close by also good clean toilets the sea was a bit cold but this is England after all.You can eveh take your dogs on the beach < designated areas >.From the cliff areas the steps down to the beach would challenge most people to walk up but there also are easier ways to the top not far away.

“All the beach areas were very clean and safe for the children to play on.”
Reviewed 9 August 2011

We spent the week walking along or spending time on nearly the whole of Bournemouths seven miles of beach and not fault any of it.

“Lovely beach, but spoilt”
Reviewed 28 June 2011

I visited Bournemouth beach yesterday and I have got to say, I was disappointed.

Now it is not like me to write a bad review So I am going to start with the negatives and finish with the positives.

Ok Immediately as I arrived at the beach around about 10am I was amazed at the sheer amount of rubbish that has already littered the beach. Now I am a traditionalist and so walking on the beach bare ffoot comes second nature to me, I was having to watch every step as there were cigarette ends and bottles etc everywhere!

later on in the day at about mid day me and my group of friends noticed a very odd scent and realised that despite there being a large amount of families on the beach some people decided to start smoking drugs! Now I think this is bang out of order and was not happy at all. To make things worst it was happening right below the lifeguard station!

Some of the plus sides to the trip are that there are plenty of facilities along the beach and there is a strong presence of life guards.
