The Hermitage Hotel Bournemouth
Ranked #9 of 66 Hotels in Bournemouth
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 30 November 2013

We stayed here for one night to attend a function. The staff were attentive, polite and knowledgeable about the area.
Our room (604) was large, well appointed and had every facility to make our stay a pleasure.
The shower was really good - however there was a glitch in the morning with no hot water. It wasn't a foreseeable problem so there could be no blame attached to the hotel and, for those guests leaving later it was rectified by 9.45 - all in all a good place to take in Bournemouth with everything within easy walking distance and with ample car parking why drive?
We have to congratulate the catering staff. Our food served at the evening function was delicious, hot and tasty very few hotels cater for large groups satisfactorily The Hermitage does AND the breakfast was one of our most memorable - believe us we travel and have had some five star rubbish served us.

We stayed at the Hermitage for a Saturday night in November. The hotel setting is excellent and easy to drive to; there is ample parking. Walking into central Bournemouth takes a couple of minutes. The reception and service we received was very good and reflects the fact it is a 4 star hotel. However what stopped me making this a 5 star review was the fact that the sea view room we had was very small and the bed was a small 4' 6''. For £153 per night (B&B) I don't think this represented as good a value as I expected. The highlight of the stay was the excellent breakfast.

We stayed at The Hermitage overnight as we were going to a show at The Pavilion. The hotel was a perfect location for both The Pavilion and the BIC and the rest of Bournemouth centre, spot on.
Our room overlooked the pier where we could watch surfers and beach walkers. The room itself was huge with everything we needed, lovely and warm, as was the whole Hotel.
The reception staff were very welcoming, in fact, all the staff were amazing, so polite, professional, friendly, helpful.
We found it to be of great value as other local hotels wanted to charge extra for breakfast and for parking which would have added another £40 to the cost.
Breakfast was delicious and plenty of it. If I had to find fault well........................I cant, we were really impressed with it all and certainly intend to go back as soon as we can.

Room Tip: Room 213 is huge and overlooks the pier, with a side window overlooking the BIC.

This hotel is within walking distance for town and beach. We took our elderly parents and the staff were very accommodating to their needs. Had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely. We had superior rooms with sea views and they were both spacious, comfortable with great views that I could have watched all day. This hotel has been updated but through its staff and amenities it still retains the charm of a bygone age. Try it.

This is about the sixth time I have stay at the Hermitage. It never disappoints. It is a very well run hotel with friendly and welcoming staff, clean smart and in an excellent position for Bournemouth. The food, in a very efficient and comfortable restaurant area is excellent. Cannot envisage visiting Bournemouth without staying at the Hermitage.

We stayed at The Hermitage for one night as we were attending a graduation at The Bournemouth International Centre the next day and it is literally just across the road, the seafront and pier are equally as close and the town centre is just five minutes walk away. The Receptionist was pleasant and helpful and agreed that we could leave our car in the spacious car park a little longer on the graduation day.The room was spacious and well appointed with a good size bathroom with a bath! The breakfast was one of the best I have ever had-full English of course all freshly cooked and waitress service included. We will definitely stay at The Hermitage if we are in Bournemouth ever again. My only complaint is that our bed was very hard.

Room Tip: Ask for a soft mattress if you suffer from back pain.
