We booked on a night when Dancers were in town at the BIC... We were told that the hotel would be full. We were offered a 'cheaper' room ( In fact we have since discovered that the price was the same as a far superior very well known Hotel around the corner charge). The heating did not work in the room and it was freezing ... a staff member 'fixed' it and we were sweltering. There was dried blood on the bathroom tiles which the manager and his members of staff insisted was rust from the brick dust ... we do know the difference. There was so much noise from the lift, furniture being moved around and and people returning from their night out ALL NIGHT it was impossible to sleep.
It would have been fairer to have not let out a substandard room on a night when by their own admission thet knew the place was going to be full and taken over by a known and regular group ....sheer greed...
Be aware that there really are far better Hotels in the area .. this one, which so impressed us in the past has literally lost the plot... you do not have to tolerate such a place. Hotel is not a title I would give it...
Lip service and the company line will be given by staff to explain away this experience...if you do choose to inflict this place on yourself then at the very least insist on seeing the room first and avoid the 'cheaper' option along with the appalling breakfast....
Such a shame...we were so impressed not long ago although we had not stayed for more than lunch....still we've since discovered there are far better options in Bournemouth..I hope you do too...

Room tip: Go somewhere else or insist on inspecting the room first avoid rooms on 2nd floor

Surprised about your review although a little economical, room rate as booked on day 80.00 for two people accommodation and breakfast to include onsite parking, if this is the same as the hotel you mention we'll eat our words.
All radiators are controlled by individual thermostat, we turned this from zero to five and hey presto it worked, fairly simple to rectify and control.
You had a rear facing room and were aware of the room when you booked, not quite sure what was wrong but its clear that as we would meet your demand for refund its best to accept we would receive a negative review, if on the other hand your complaint was reasonable and valid we would have addressed immediately.
Unfortunately its all to easy to post scathing reviews and only hope that the readers can identify a genuine review.

Good location right next to beach. Parking wasn't good (lots of double parking) but able to stay in the multi-storey car park which is virtually the road although you pay for this.

Reception wasn't particularly friendly or efficient.

Room and bathroom were ok. Stayed here as a base for a race and it was good for this. But decided not to stay the night.

It's been a couple of weeks since we were at The Hermitage and I still have fond memories. An extremely nice, conveniently situated hotel with excellent and friendly staff. Good food, reasonably priced, and a very relaxed atmosphere.
