“Very friendly hotel!”
Reviewed 25 August 2008

We booked a last minute weekend away and found the Ullswater throught the tourist board. We had no idea what to expect at a 2* hotel.

They were just fantastic, very friendly and incredibly helpful, and with a family of 6 we have a difficult time finding nice hotel rooms!

We had a great room and the children just loved it, especially breakfast which was better than many hotels we have stayed in of a much higher grade. Really lovely food and very flexible (my children eat loads!), very impressive for a 2*, can't believe it isn't graded higher.

We were very impressed and would love to go again.

Thanks for a great weekend.

We booked a 4 night stay at the Ullswateter for a Bowls Tour with approx. 45 other guests. Having previously stayed at the Hotel 3 years before we were not expecting such high standards for a 2* hotel. However the food and the service in the restaurant was outstanding. The only criticism you could possible make was that the bathrooms were not up to the standards of the rest of the hotel. Apparently this is being addressed by the owners of the hotel who have not long been in residence.

we have just returned from a weekend at ullswater hotel for our 22nd anniversary. we were a bit concerned when we realised we booked into a 2* hotel and was dreading what the food would be like, worry was for nothing as it was excellent, and im a chef so i would have no probs in criticsing, but thankfully i did not have any grounds to. service was great and all staff and fellow guests were friendly. would definately recommend ullswater and will be going again next year. it was very central close to the beach and shopping centre and plenty of bars in the area. tracey and andrew from frome somerset.
