We have stayed at this hotel before and returned because of the excellent time we had there, we will be returning again in July. Food is of good quality, staff very helpful, and the rooms clean and tidy. We always upgrade and would recommend this to all, as the views are fantastic.

Room 415 with small windows is in the roof and is a disgrace which brought no response from staff when reported and Shearings have still not replied.
The bathroom lock was broken, the basin cracked and tiles off the wall. The main bedroom door was insecure and could not be locked from inside. The electric heater falls off the wall if nudged and could be a serious fire risk. The small TV receives only four channels and remote is faulty. Not acceptable in this day and age.
Hotel management have talked of a refurbishment programme for too long and yet still accommodate and charge for sub standard rooms.

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room on floors two or three

I am sorry to hear of your feelings towards room 415. The radiator in this room has been done and TV’s as per other comments will be replaced in early 2012 when we go digital. We always have refurbishment programmes going on as we are always looking at improvements, room 415 was redecorated not long ago, and all furniture is new with a lovely spec. Some customers like being up on the 4th floor and some don’t. Next time you book please do give us a call with your requests and we will make sure to meet them.

We went to this hotel on a recommendation from someone we had met at another of this group's (Shearings Coast and Country) hotels. Unfortunately is wasn't the standard we had hoped for. The bedroom was large, but the bathroom was very small (with an awkward shower!). The staff, on the whole, were efficient, and the reception staff were particularly helpful. Although we arrived at 4 p.m. (travelling independtly by train) we could not get an evening mealtime before 8 p.m. for the 4 nights we were there. The evening 'entertainment; was third rate (and too noisy). It was a long trip from Yorkshire to be so disappointed. There is only one lift.

Room Tip: Don't have a bedroom at the front of the hotel

We offer amazing value for money with comfortable, clean rooms, our staff are friendly, caring and cannot do enough for our guests. The entertainment is here to be enjoyed by all.
There is plenty to do in Bournemouth especially at the beginning of the summer season and for those who prefer a quiet time, our quiet lounge has a 50” TV and a selection of games for guest’s enjoyment, we also have the snooker room, or why not try the gardens for a nice relaxing walk. I am sorry we did not meet your expectations; we certainly try to do so. We hope that you will return and have a more enjoyable stay in the near future.

Having stayed here for 4 nights ( 23rd to 27th May) the bedroom was of a fair standard, quite roomy. The bathroom was dated with a shower over the bath, we had problems with the water draining away but it was fixed and normal showering resumed. The food was very good (the soup was a meal on it's own). The hotel staff we found to be very friendly, helpful and polite. I would give the hotel 3 plus stars. Unfortunately the same can't be said for the Shearings female coach driver, who spoke just once on the way down from Exhall interchange and was very unpleasant the whole time we were there. Shearings had sold 8 people the front 4 seats which caused problems. Having been on 8 different hotel breaks with Shearings this has to be the worst coach driver we have encountered. We spoke to other people staying at the hotel, on a coach from London, and they said she was miserable so if you get this coach driver from Exhall interchange take a good book with you ( I'm sure you won't get disturbed).

Thank you for your lovely comments regarding the hotel and the Savoy team, the chef will be pleased to know you enjoyed the food, which I have to agree as I find it delicious too! Sorry to hear about the coach driver, it is an unusual complaint as I have never had any complaints about her in the past. I am sure she will read your comments and feel very upset that she offended you in any way. I do hope to see you again; we are here with a smile waiting for your return sometime in the near future!

Third time I have stayed here and whilst the hotel is a little "tired" in places it is in an easy to get to location and represents good value. The staff especially in the restaurant are very helpful and efficient.Breakfast options are fine but the evening menu could do with a bit of inspiration. You can update on your room but if only staying for a short break not sure this is worth it.Would suggest a room on the 3rd/4th floor with garden/sea view as apart from the view they are quieter.

Room Tip: Would recommend 3rd/4th floor with garden/sea view

My partner and I stayed for a weekend at The Savoy in Bournemouth in March 2011.

The hotel position was perfect for access to the beach (just a 5 minute stroll) and the town centre.

Our room was lovely with a view over the gardens and beyond to the sea with a balcony, although March is not really the month to be out on the balcony it was still nice to stand out there with a coffee in the mornings.

The restaurant was spacious and the food choice was very good with a choice of 3 starters, mains and desserts.

We stayed in the hotel for the evening entertainment instead of walking into town and we were glad that we did with Saturday night being a Bee Gees Tribute band.

I could not fault this hotel in any way, the staff were very professional and helpful and the hotel itself was very clean, tidy and comfortable.

Thank you for such a wonderful review! I am really pleased that you found everything to your satisfaction – this means so much. Our tribute bands are very popular, the Bee Gees being no exception – we aim to have this type of entertainment on every Saturday from October through to May. I hope you will come and visit us again.
