Just returned form a 2 night stay at The Savoy Hotel, with my wife and her parents.
Had a wonderful time. Bournmouth itself is lovely and very clean, so much to do.
The hotel, freindly staff, clean and comfortable rooms with amazing views.
Food was brilliant, we booked dinner bed and breakfast and enjoyed every meal.
We booked thorugh coast and country hotels and found this break to be fantastic value for money.
A wonderful stay and would reccomend this hotel to all.

Room Tip: Ask for high floors and for a sea view, you wont be dissapointed.

We have just spent four days at the savoy in Bournmouth, a last minute break before Xmas.
Aedan and the front desk staff made our check in and out fast and efficient.
We had a garden view room No.309. Wow what a view, to lie in bed and watch the sun rise over the bay was fantastic each morning.
The hotel, despite being a little past its former glory, was extremly clean and airy, and very warm at all times. In fact we had to sleep with the window open to cool it down a bit.
We had a full bathroom with all the usual complimentary shampoo,s ect.
We also had a small balcony we could stand and sit out on.
We were on half board basis, the food at all times was very good, hot and very well presented.
The staff in the dining room were very efficient and very pleasant, always had a bit of time to chat, which really makes those older guests feel welcome.
Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and will most certainly book again in the new year.
A very well done to the management and staff.

My husband arranged a 4 night break in Bournemouth in November and we travelled down there by car. We had read that there were limited parking spaces and so booked for the hotel car park at £5 per night. This worked very well and so we never had to worry about where we could leave the car. The room we were given was very good, clean and spacious although we found it rather cold. When we mentioned this at reception we were given an additional heater which increased the temperature greatly. The en-suite bathroom was also very clean, warm with a heated towel rail, and well prepared with toiletries etc. Even though it was November we did have some sun and were able to take advantage of our Garden Room which opened out on to an individual patio where there was a small table and chairs. The food was excellent and well presented and although the choice was limited to about three per course, the menu was well put together ensuring that there was something for everyone. The service was also excellent and our waitress, Denisa, was absolutely brilliant, with nothing being too much trouble.
We thoroughly enjoyed our break at The Savoy and considering what we paid we considered that it was excellent value for money. The price even included entertainment on two nights!

To all the staff at The Savoy - Thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable.

Room Tip: We were given a Garden Room on the ground floor which opened on to its own private patio area and lo...

We were part of a Shearings Coach holiday . The public rooms are really impressive ,dining room large and well staffed .I must mention our waitress Denisa ,who was superb serving us well with excellent food with a brilliant menu.
However ,the room 311 we were first given was not very good. No heating in the bathroom and it was so bad ,have not been in any other Coast and Country hotel with such a bathroom before , the curtains looked as if a cat had slid down the curtain as it was all in tatters, very bad. We went to reception and were given eventually ( after looking at another room) a room with door to tthe outside garden ,no,5. Tthis room was very good but could do with a bit of "tidying up" in the bathroom. The most awful thing overall was no heating whatever .We were told after several visits to reception it would come on at 4pm, 5pm. or 7pm.but if it came on it did not heat any raidiators in our room ,lounge or dining room or other bedrooms. Those who complained received a small oil filled raidiator, and that was quite a few.We were told by an engineer investigating lack of heat that the hotel boilers "had had it"! One member of staff told us it was the managment policy not to have heating in the lounge during the day because eveybody should be out and it was their "saving the planet" philosophy! Such a pity ,because the hotel is in a wonderful position on the Westcliff area. So if you go take warm clothing and a hot water bottle.

Room Tip: You need to upgrade ,check about heating and bathroom.

We apologise for the lack of heating during your stay. This was brought to my attention and an engineer contacted promptly to resolve the issue.
We are always looking at ways to improve and have many refurbishment plans for the near future, we will continue to provide high standards of service, comfortable accommodation within beautiful surroundings and great value for money.

We do hope to see you again in the future.

My wife and I went on a Shearings hotel weekend and took our own car.
With the help of Tripadvisor we booked a fourth floor room with a garden/sea view which cost an extra £18 each.
The room was spacious, clean and amenable and the food was excellent for the price we paid.
The waiter service was outstanding and all the staff were excellent in their friendliness and efficiency.
We would certainly go to this hotel again if the desire arose.

Room Tip: Pick a rooom on the fourth floor with a garden view.

My husband and I have just returned from a very enjoyable 3 night night stay at the Savoy Hotel. The public areas of the hotel are very nice. We liked the waiter/waitress service in the Dinning Room which is so much more relaxing than having to queue and get your own food. We thought there was a good choice on the menu and the food was good. Our room (103) was big and warm with a garden and sea view. Its was'nt a refurbushed room but was quite acceptable. The only criticism we had was the bathroom was very old and tired. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment for the weekend was good.

All in all its was very good value for money and would definitely use Shearings again.

My husband and I have just returned for a 3 night stay at this hotel. Our room (No 104) was very spacious and the view over the garden was lovely. We could also see the sea from our window. Outside was a large balcony but too cold to sit on. On a warm day it would be very pleasant. The furniture in the room did need updating but we had flat screen TV coffee and tea making facilites. There was always hot water and yes the room was a little dark but how much time do you spend in it. The staff were very friendly and our room cleaned every morning. The reception staff were very friendly and polite and we ordered papers for each day and then settled our tab on our last morning including the drinks we had during the evening. The staff in the restaurant were also very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food choice was good always 3 choices of starter, dinner and sweet this always included a veggie option which my husband enjoyed. Breakfast also had several choices and of course cereals, juice tea and coffee. The restaurant was nicely set out and comfortable. The hotel is situated 10 mins walk to the centre of Bournemouth and the beach is down the steps at the end of the road from the hotel. There is a bus stop about 10 mins walk where you can catch a bus to Poole which go every 7 mins. Buses are plentiful from the town to lots of destinations including Swanage. I do agree with others that if you are staying at the hotel you should not have to pay for the car park but as parking on the road is restricted there is not much choice. The car park is actually cheaper to stay in as we paid £3 for 2 hours in Weymouth. I would recommend this hotel and would return.
