A real gem in Boscombe. This Hotel is like stepping back in time, it has still got an old gated lift but has many modern essentials such as a heated indoor pool and hot tub.The upgrade to a seaview room with balcony was very unexpected and very welcome - thank you.
We loved the breakfast buffet and overendulged most days.
We treated ourselves to an evening meal one evening and had the wonderful experience of a live pianist and a fantastic three couse meal.
The Hotel is wonderfully placed as a short walk through the fantastic gardens takes you down to the sea front and pier.
Sadly both Boscombe and Bournmouth seem to be feeling the force of the recession quite badly as there were many empty shops and cafes in both areas.

Room Tip: If your budget can stretch to it a seaview room with balcony is a great room.

Seven of us spent 3 nights and in our package it was cheaper to have half board than just B&B.
Rooms mostly large, and clean and comfortable. Food (we had breakfast and dinner) was superb and very highly rated by everyone. All staff were equally marvellous - friendly, polite, helpful, some of the best that we have ever experienced.
The sitting areas were spacious and comfortable.
The spa - gym, indoor and outdoor heated pools, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, and sauna were ideal and not over-busy during our stay in early to mid-October.
The only small criticism was the bass noise from a wedding party disco under the main restaurant, which occured for a while on one night.
My wife and I visited 12 recommended hotels in the Bournemouth area prior to selecting one for our stay. We were in no doubt after our stay that we had made the correct decision in chosing the Chine.

This hotel is a fusion of old and new. It looks like an Art Deco building in need of a bit of tlc in places outside with a modern extension. Parking is relatively limited but there is plenty in nearby roads which is free.

The staff on reception were friendly when we asked for directions to the bar. Inside the hotel has modern furnishings and wooden floors. The toilets were clean and well stocked with lots of little extras like hand cream, tissues and toiletries

The garden is like Compton Acres, beautifully kept and really large on several levels and there are tables to sit outside. There is a path to follow which drops down to the other levels. It is ideal for taking photographs.

You can also see the sea and Boscombe Pier from the back of the hotel.

We only went for drinks and the Pimms was very good. I would definitely go back for the garden alone.

Given a warm welcome at the Chine and despite a wedding in full swing the doorman showed us alternative parking nearby. They seem to have about 3 adjoining hotels. We were in the West wing but it had an adjoining passageway for use in wet weather. We had a large room on the 1st floor overlooking the bay. Bed was very comfortable and we didnt hear one door close or any sound at all - this was a very quiet location and the room well furnished with all we needed. Pleased to see that we had a bath with lashings of hot water. The towels were large and fluffy with complimentary toiletries. Breakfast was hot buffet the first morning, due to the wedding, but the second morning the hot order was personally taken, quickly brought with fresh coffee, hot and very tasty. Area for reading the papers is also comfy, overlooking the extensive gardens - view from breakfast room has a pleasant view almost amongst the tree tops. One can walk through the gardens down to the beach. Plenty of places locally to eat and only takes 5 mins to walk to the pier. Feels a safe area if the car has to go elsewhere, lots of parking areas belonging to hotel, but the one adjoining the original Chine hotel is very limited and always full. We had a good deal and I would come here again. Outdoor and indoor swimming pools - too cold for outdoor one but the indoor facilities were very good, nicely lit and furnished with a well kitted out gym next door. For those with young children there is a ground floor room which is like a soft ball area, plenty to keep them amused. The sunshine no doubt helped but we did enjoy our stay and found Boscombe pleasant.

Room Tip: we were in the West wing on the first floor - no 26, which was large enough and overlooking the outd...

Stayed for the weekend beginning 5th October 2012. All members of staff very efficient and helpful giving good service. Catering very good at both bar and restaurant levels. Quality beach fairly close, bit of a climb back up, Bournemouth 10 mins, all in all good value for money. Would definately stay again whenever in the area. Like all hotels fault can be founf if you are determined to find it but this hotel meets expection in the price range it sits.

This is a jewel in the crown of Boscombe, hidden away in immaculate gardens, overlooking the bay. Breakfast 'at Tiffany's' comes to mind as you saunter in for a massive mix of all things gorgeous. Relaxing rooms, many with sea views, spa and sauna, walk through the gardens to the beach, romantic dinners all make a weekend break unforgettable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the bay!
