“A Great Weekend”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2014

We went to this hotel as the result of a weekend offer and were very pleasantly surprised by our stay. Although the car parking was a bit ropey, we managed to get in so left the car there for the weekend. Room 016 in the annex was quite big and comfortable and overlooked the pool. It was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Although the hotel was catering for a large Lodge function, we dined in the hotel restaurant on the 1st evening and had an excellent meal at a reasonable price served by attentive waiting staff. The breakfasts were buffet-style and were also excellent.

All in all, a very good weekend stay and we'd certainly consider visiting again.

Room Tip: Room 016 was good and being at the end of a short corridor, quiet.

Although parking is an issue this did not distract from having a thoroughly good time. We had 3 nights at the hotel in the west wing, we were wary with our first impressions from the outside appearance but were not disappointed with the décor and the size of our room number 35 which had a sea view.
All of the staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Food was to a good standard and if I stay there again I will book the meal on the first night, something special.
We had a problem with a water leak in the bathroom which looked as though it had been recently refurbished but within an hour it was fixed. Towels were changed and the bed remade with coffee/tea and biscuits replenished every day.

The first hotel to be built in Boscombe before the need of parking. The inability to find a space could be the major setback for a worry free time. We were fortunate parking 3 doors away with almost the last space. Bedroom clean with comfortable bed , adequate ensuite and sufficient space though this did require an upgrade. Staff friendly but early in season still in need of some training. Super walk through well kept gardens to Boscombe Pier with a mile or so walk along the prom to Bournemouth. Dinner was acceptable but fruit salad very disappointing and salmon only just OK. Breakfast Buffet was good and set us up for the day.We enjoyed our stay and it's probably good for families too.

Room Tip: Need to upgrade for views

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay for two nights bed and breakfast in late March. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. The room was big with an enormous, very comfortable bed, the bathroom was newly fitted with a bath and shower over it. We also had a balcony and sea view which was a bonus.

Car parking limited, but we managed to find a space nearby outside one of the other houses owned by the hotel but did not move the car whilst we were there.

We walked down through the hotel gardens onto the sea front, near to Boscombe pier, where it was approximately half an hour's walk along the promenade into Bournemouth. Alternatively there are numerous regular buses into Bournemouth. We had a taxi back to the hotel one night which only cost £7.

We only ate breakfast in the hotel restaurant which was excellent with a good variety of both hot and cold food to chose from, and very efficient service from the waiting staff. The restaurant setting is lovely with views of the hotel gardens and the sea beyond.

The swimming pool was only small but heated to a pleasant temperature. The outdoor hob tub was very relaxing!

Overall, a very pleasant mini-break.

I bought a deal through amazon local for 3 nights stay with breakfast at The Chine hotel . It is situated near the Boscombe pier with beautiful sea view rooms and free parking. It is an Elegant Victorian era hotel with lot of history. However the rooms have been refurbrised and the red carpets look very nice. The service is good and food at the resturant excellent. They have a elaborate cooked breakfast buffet from 7 am to 10 am. The room we stayed was on 1st floor, sea view balcony room (219). The room size was good , they provide a baby cot as promised with cot matress and blankets.A chilled bottle of good white wine and bouquet of flowers(extra) welcomed us. bed was big sized and comfortable.
Hotel has kids play room indoors as well as outdoors play zone. It has a leisure and fitness club which is complimentary to resident guests. Leisure club has a heated outdoor pool , a well maintained indoors poll...also a very nice Zacuzzi which I enjoyed the most. It also has a outdoors hot bath tub attached to the gym. The hotel has asprawling garden with fountains, and sitting area. You can walk through the garden down to the beach in 10- 15 mins. It has a secured gate to the beach.
Would definately recommend this hotel if you are visiting Bournemouth.

Room Tip: room 218, 219 220 have beautiful sea view balconies. The breakfast buffet is excellent and wholesome...

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in January this year, when we travelled down for the FA Cup tie between Bournemouth and Liverpool. Facilities are very good, and the indoor pool allows for a swim in the winter. There is an outside pool for the summer. The gardens follow a steep path right down to the seafront in Boscombe. The room we had was a massive double room, but with another room linked to it with bunk beds, obviously for a family use. We didn't have an evening meal in the hotel, but the breakfasts were both plentiful and very well cooked. We did struggle with the car parking though as there is limited availability. The hotel did seem to have a large number of guests though, so it is difficult to say what it may be like in the height of the summer.

If I was returning to the area, I wouldn't hesitate to use this hotel again.

Room Tip: We were in a room facing the road, although I would say that rooms at the rear of the hotel would ha...

Went on an Amazon Local deal. Would recommend a room on 3rd floor overlooking sea. Breakfast excellent. There seemed to be a problem getting drink/coffee at the bar minutes after 11pm! Parking for the hotel/annexes a big problem-not enough spaces and March is off season! Only 1 receptionist at busy times when people checking in. Ensure you are in the main hotel- guests unhappy being put in adjacent annexes.

Room Tip: 3rd floor overlooking sea.
