In some ways it was like stepping back in time - In a nice way.
The hotel describes itself as a country house by the sea and thats just what you get.
The Miramar is very traditional and is very well located for exploring Bournemouth.
Newly refurbished rooms, good quality bedding and towels, and all kept very clean.
Free parking and as others have said - friendly helpful staff.

I am a lover of modern hotels however I can honestly say that I enjoyed this experience.

Room Tip: It goes without saying that seaview rooms are the best.

Having stayed at the Miramar before on a regular basis, it was the obvious choice to spend a couple of nights there with all our family following our wedding in January. The staff were, as always, helpful, cheerful and polite, and catered for our group of 14 very well. All the family really enjoyed it, so much so, that we are thinking of doing it again on our anniversary next January. The only drawback here is that private functions take precedence over the comfort of guests so you can find yourself without the facilities of the lounge to accommodate a funeral party or suchlike. This happened on all three days that we were there but the weather was fine so we were able to go out out of the way. There are other rooms in the garden suite that could be used without affecting resident guests but this options does not appear to be considered-pity because I'm sure some funeral parties would prefer to be in their own private room rather than have unsuspecting guests wandering in or grumbling because they can't use the lounge if the weather is bad. The staff are great, though,(it's the management that are the problem!) and it's just like going back to see old friends when we visit.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front, nearer Bournemouth pier end and on the second floor are better if there is a fun...

I had a great stay! Freshly refurbished rooms, AMAZING garden, brilliant food. What more can you ask?

I came here on business, but I will definitely return with my family. The very best hotel I have stayed in in Bournemouth.

Punches above its weight! Traditional, good position, good food and service.

I have stayed at the Miramar a few times and not been disappointed, the out of season dinner bed and breakfast offer is excellent value.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for two nights a few days ago and took the opportunity to take in a concert at the Pavilion. We had a very roomy, comfortable balcony suite with a fine view of Bournemouth Bay and the well kept garden of the hotel. Breakfast and evening meal menus were excellent and the restaurant service very attentive. The town centre and the Pavilion are a very short walk away. All staff were very friendly and efficient and we had a very restful two days whicgh we hope to repeat.

This hotel is in a superb location close to the Pier and East Cliff Beach but only a short walk from the town centre. It's very traditional, even a little old-fashioned but it's well fitted out, clean and comfortable. Bedrooms are a good size- even the smaller rear-facing rooms are spacious but it was over-heated. The common areas are more four-star than three and there are magnificent views of Poole Bay. Staff were reasonably friendly. The breakfast was generally good and included waitress service and I didn't have to wait too long. I got a very good weekday price. A sea view would have been wonderful but you can't have everything. Would definitely recommend as a good three-star hotel.

Room Tip: The front rooms are more expensive but you could always try for an upgrade if they are not full.

I attended this reunion lunch in November which turned out to be a great experience. Pre-lunch we were able to use the main lounge and bar areas which adequately.accommodated the 130 or so guests We had good bar service although the prices were not that cheap but a pre=arranged price for tea or coffee at £2 turned out to be a good deal and good quality.Lunch was on time and it was hot and exactly as ordered. It was a limited choice but with 130 covers this has to be expected. The service was quick and friendly. The only downside of the function was the lack of an adequate PA system in the main restaurant which was not loud enough for some people to hear although the sound was up at maximum. This made the calling out of raffle ticket numbers difficult. This group is a local group and have held these reunions in Bournemouth for a long period of time. Older members have said it was the best they have attended so we hope to return for our next meeting.
