Not the place for you if wanting a quiet night in. We stayed here with a 9 month old baby and were kept awake by loud bar music until late ( mid week). There is no soundproofing in the rooms so even when the music stopped I was kept awake with doors slamming.

The noise aside, the food was excellent and the staff very helpful.

My mum, sister and ! stayed at the Royal Exeter hotel for an early weekend break. The hotel is beautiful. The staff at reception and within the hotel were super friendly and went completely out of their way to make us feel comfortable and well thought of. The location is perfect! A 2 minute walk from both the town centre and the beach. The rooms were spotless, house keeping kept the rooms looking as fresh as they did when we first arrived no matter how much we had messed it up sleeping.
The only down side i could find was that the floor on the first floor was rather noisy. Other then this the hotel was amazing, would definitely stay there again .

We visited the Royal exeter hotel for one night
The hotel has very freindly Receptionists who are very polite
We found the hotel to be clean and tidy in an ideal position just a few minutes from the beach
The superior Dorset suite ( room 120 ) was a nice large room with a four poster bed
and jacuzzi bath
The bedroom and bathroom are getting a bit tired and are in need of a bit of a tidy up...
However we would stay in this room again
The breakfast was GREAT.... We were welcomed by a very freindly guy how gave us a warm welcome and the breakfast was vey good

Some of the reviews about this hotel don't think it's much of a family hotel, well my family has just stayed there for the week and that is absolute rubbish. The entire staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, the location is fantastic 2 mins from the beach and all the attractions, the rooms are spotless and very spacious and the beds are very comfortable, the food is excellent always plenty of choice, the staff always pleasant and very helpful, extra facilities include sauna, hot tub and gym and we will definitely be staying there again.

The hotel has 2 disco bars with pounding music until 4am. Our friends were dirsctly above one of these and got no sleep all night. Our room was better placed but we still got woken up at 4am when revelers returned. The staff were friendly and the breakfast good but the noise element simply isn't on.
If you are 18 - 25 and out for a good time or a hen/stag night then this hotel may be for you. If you are older or with children we would strongly advise against staying there. I emailed the hotel on my return and didn't even get a reply.
THERE MUST BE BETTER HOTELS THAN THIS IN BOURNEMOUTH.

Room Tip: Go as far away from disco bars as possible.

Great location! Wouldnt recomend if your coming away for peace and quiet! Its not loud in the day but it can be at night, but we didnt hear any noise from the room! Your very close to everything so will be returning as always!
