Friendly and good service by all staff, free parking and great location. 1812 and Bar So on site which helps complete your stay. My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during the Whitsun week. What a lovely break we had. The hotel is in the perfect location just 200 yards from the beach and opposite the BIC, we were on the 2nd floor and the room was fantastic, spotlessly clean with a superb shower in the en-suite. Breakfast, continental or full English (which was freshly cooked to order) set you up for the day. Tommy and his colleagues in the restaurant certainly looked after us during breakfast. Indeed all the staff were helpful and delightful during our stay. The hotel has the added bonus of a free car park, however please note the entrance is slightly tricky off a roundabout but we managed without any issues. Free wi-fi is also provided.

There is a night club attached to the hotel but it never caused us any issues at all during our stay. For evening meals we tended to eat out, there is a Witherspoons pub located 200 yards up towards town which was ok (cheap and cheerful), we also ate in Harry Ramsdens down by the beach which was superb. Other than that there are plenty of place close by to eat out.

The bottom line is would we stay here again ! you bet.

stayed here for one night on 27th may (half term) we paid 65 pound for the night which included breakfast. our room was on the first floor 115 very large room with queen size bed and extra single bed. the room was very clean and bed was comfy, water for bath very hot, being an old hotel its all red and dark wood which does look nice . my only negative is the hotel has very creaky floors especially our bedroom but it is a very old hotel and I suppose that can only be expected,. breakfast was very good and cooked to order there was also good choice of cereal, pastries fruit juices and yoghurts with tea and toast brought to your table. all staff at the hotel where very friendly and helpful, free parking which is a little tight to get into car park. but they even let you keep your car in there past your checkout time which was a big bonus as we wanted to enjoy bournemouth for a few more hours, its location is amazing opposite the BIC, 5 mins walk from palidium and 5 mins from the beach and pier we would defitnely stay here again.

Booked a 2 night midweek break during Easter school holiday through Travelzoo. Great value at £35 per person per night, incl full breakfast and fixed menu 3 course dinner. Very good location, opposite BIC, 5 minutes walk from pier/beach, lower gardens and town centre.
Tricky entrance to car park, immediately by hotel front door and off a quite busy roundabout. Free car parking a definite plus for central Bournemouth. Our 1st floor room was comfortable, clean and plenty big enough for 3. Room facilities all worked well. Hotel had plenty of character, being Victorian, lots of dark wood panelling, impressive staircase, stained glass windows, etc.
Breakfast good, continental items plus full English cooked to order. Dinner was OK, although portions quite small and main course lacked usual vegetables. Extra £3 for a small portion of veg and drinks were relatively expensive too. However not a major problem considering good value of overall deal.
Used small fitness room, which was OK. Staff were all helpful and service was good.
Would recommend, especially at the price we paid.

Room Tip: Rooms at rear, away from busy road, bar and main car park, likely to be quieter

Stayed for one night with a friend. Great location with free car parking. Hotel does need some modernisation. Two great bars attached. Music went on until 3am in one bar. We joined in so that did not bother us but if we wanted an early night the music was loud in our room and it did make the hotel very busy downstairs and accordingly there was no peaceful place to sit and have a drinks the evening. Free wifi. Tea and coffee making facilities ok. Reception staff were very friendly. We ate in So bar. Service slow but food very good. Cheap cocktails in both bars! Would recommend and we would stay again.

I picked this hotel for its location and the reviews were reasonable. I paid more than I normally would for a hotel believing I would get better quality but in fact this hotel was a lot worse than many more modern and friendly b&b's that I have stayed in. The room was a pokey little attic room on the third floor where the windows wouldn't shut because the wood had swollen yet we needed them closed for the wind and the noise from the bar downstairs which went on beyond midnight. The decor was decades out of date and the walls and ceiling badly needed painting. The breakfast was awful as we were served a full English that had obviously been sat around for a while as it was all dry and overcooked. We found a table ourselves as there was no staff to greet us at the door. Avoid this hotel!

Room Tip: Don't stay here
