“Relaxing short break”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2013

2 of us, each with dogs, stayed for 2 nights. We had comfortable, separate double rooms. Sheila and Paul couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The dogs were very happy and we had an extremely relaxing/fun break. The hotel is situated in a fabulous spot. Perfectly positioned for the beach and walking for miles along the beautiful coast. We came away feeling as if we'd had a week long holiday. I definitely would recommend this lovely b&b and will definitely stay again if down that way. Thank you for looking after us so well.

We stayed for 2 nights over the bank holiday and could not fault this B+B. Sheila and Paul were very welcoming and were very knowledgeable of the surrounding area including recommending restaurants, which bus to get to where you wanted to go and even which gift shops to try.
Accommodation was spotless and smelt beautiful considering this is a dog friendly place. Breakfasts were perfect with a variety of choices, whatever your tastes and the scrambled eggs were delicious, plenty of tea and toast too, served by Sheila who could not do enough for you. The location was perfect, situated just a short stroll from Southbourne High St with all the shops you could think of, in one direction and the cliff top and beautiful beach in the other. We did walk into Bournemouth along the sea front several times during our stay and whilst it is a very pleasant 30 to 40 minutes at a steady pace, comfortable shoes are a must as we have the blisters to prove it. All in all we would highly recommend and would definitely consider using Waterside again should we return to this part of the country. Thanks for a lovely break Tracey and Tony, West Bromwich

Room Tip: We had the superior double with en-suite and lovely bay window with seating area

We stayed on bank holiday weekend and could not fault our stay. 4 of us stayed in 2 separate rooms, both rooms were spotlessly clean and tidy. Considering it is accommodation that accepts dogs no whiff of dog was in the room. the breakfast was spot on, fried bread=perfect! plenty of off street parking was available and it was conveniently located to all amenities. Thank you so much for a perfect stay. thank you for your hospitality, you are both very good at what you do and we hope to see you again soon.

As a sea lover, I chose Bournemouth to celebrate my 28th birthday with my families, including our chocolate Labrador--- Koko. I have to say, this is the best birthday that I have ever had during my 3 years in UK. The location of the guest house is perfect, only 3 minutes from the beach, dog-friendly as well. The room is very nice and clean, and the English breakfast made by Sheila was just superb!!

I would definitely recommend this guest house as the NO.1 choice if you are going to have a holiday in Bournemouth, with your DOG :-D

I have also attached a pic of KOKO sleeping in our room after a wonderful afternoon swimming with me in the sea.

Went for a 3 night break last weekend. Sheila and Paul are very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was very good. Think we probably had the last room that still needs to be refurbished but it was clean and had everything we needed. We had a couple of problems but these were sorted immediately and we were even given a bottle of wine as an apology that the room wasnt up to their normal standard so what more could you ask. Would go again but upgrade to a slightly better room. We were fine to go up the stairs to the top floor (Room 5) but we hadnt been asked if we were physicaly fit before we went and the last flight of stairs were extra narrow and could have been a problem if we had any mobility problems.

Room Tip: Opt for a room that isnt on the top floor

We chose the Waterside B&B because we like to take our pet Whippet with us, and with the location close to beaches that allow dogs in season this couldn't be bettered. We had a superior king size room (1) for two nights and it was like a boutique hotel. Close to pubs and and shops in high street so no driving involved when eating out. Sheila and Paul excellent hosts. Breakfast superb. We had a great time. J, L and Pickle.

Just returned from a 2 night stay (Aug 2013) This is a great base for a break in Bournemouth. We stayed in a standard double (room 6) the decoration was beautiful, very clean and a comfortable bed. A nice touch was the shortbread biscuits left with the coffee/tea making facilities. The only down side was the water pressure for the shower. As it wasn't a power shower and we were in the top room, the pressure was not really sufficient. As this is only their second year running the B&B, this is something that can be improved over time. The breakfast was excellent, cooked to perfection with a great choice and the service cannot be faulted. Sheila and Paul are very welcoming. The location was great for Bournemouth and the surrounding area. There was plenty of on site parking and we walked into Bournemouth. It is a good couple of miles but a lively walk along the front. We decided to get the bus back which was great, only £2 and dropped us at the end of the road, very easy to navigate using the local map. We booked last minute and had the only remaining room but I suspect the other rooms would have had better plumbing however we would highly recommend this B&B.
