I ve stayed her for over 15 years. Such a friendly family run hotel, wouldnt stay anywhere else. I started coming here when I was single, with my best friend, had my clubbing days down here. Now I come with my children, my best friend and her children. Cant wait to see everyone again 12th August.
Lovely homely rooms, great breakfast and the best hospitality.

This place is perfectly located right next to the sea, owners are very welcoming and breakfast is fab, it's now our second home when the sun shines ! We made use of the hotels beach hut which is only a few minutes walk away! And they take dogs with no extra charge !

I planned a break away to see some friends, and have a dog. I was recommended the Alum Dene by my friend, because they welcome dogs. Our stay was relaxing and perfect, within two minute walk to the beach. We were made to feel very welcome. Looking forward to visiting again.

We love bournemouth but in recent years the town centre has become less than desirable, this place is located in the alum chine, away from all the stag and hen parties, and is a 2 minute walk to the beach, the place is clean and tidy, our had sea views the decor and en suite were very tatseful and modern, the owners made us feel very welcome and the breakfast was fantastic, we will most defiantly be returning.

We needed a hotel for a week end that took dogs, thus far this is a good choice,
Out side the hotel was very smart and only a hundred yards from the chine so
good for the dog.
Hosts were very freindly ,The room was clean ,but the bathroom needed a deep clean job
with the shower and the toilet had to be cleaned on arrival ,
there was no effort put into cleaning the halls and stairs over the time we were there.
Meals breakfast was at nine this was cereals -grape fruit-orange juice to collect
from hall by the front door on your way to dinning room, then the choice was
bacon x2 one egg one sasage one tin tomato, this was nearly cold on the first day
and nearly warm for the rest of the time even after being told it was not very hot on the first day
we had dinner the first night because the trip to bournemouth had been a six hour drive
the choice was limited first it was at six o-clock,we had soup to start this was good ,
then it was cottage pie (this came on it's own) nothing else,my wife had a salad
lettuce half an egg half a tomato and three of the thinnest rolls of ham.
and small slice of cake for afters, this was £12 each on the bill,
Why did you put up with this i hear you say? well we had people to see and it was a
bank holiday weekend ,my wifes cosin was with us as well and they come from
a long line of cooks and bakers,so as well as being horrified at the food they had
lots of fun talking about the dispair of it all.
there was said to be a well stocked bar but this was not even opened and the room was
in total disaray so you could not use it at all, ??????????
SO IF YOU LIKE VERY CLEAN, AND GOOD FOOD CHOICES,AND HAVE NOT COMITTED
TO A LOT OF VISITING OVER FIVE DAYS LOOK A LITTLE HARDER

Room Tip: go to another hotel

We were looking for a quick weekend break and decided to go to Bournemouth.

We have a dog and this was the first time taking him away from home for a few days, we quickly found this hotel and contacted them and they had a room so we booked it.

Turned up and it was a great location from main road to get to and also right by the beach.

The owners, an older couple were welcoming and polite and friendly, we are a gay couple so always a bit cautious to reactions but they seemed friendly and nice - they showed us to our room and asked if we were happy with it.

Now you need to remember the statement - "you get what you pay for" it cost us something like £55 - so you can't expect something amazing. We wanted a good location b&b that was able to accomodate us and the dog and somewhere to sleep for the night. It did the job perfectly.

We had a lovely trip and walks along the beach with the dog.

Breakfast the next day was very good - the landlady was friendly and pleasant and cooked a fantastic large full english.

Got talking to another couple who we saw the night before in a dog friendly pub (goat and tricycle) and they said that it was their third visit.

A perfect b&b which is clean, but basic. If you want somewhere more - pay more money.

There is some green area just at the end of the street for dog walkers.

My library book got stolen from the room. The landlady slammed the phone when I called to ask for it.Very rude instead of helping. Obviously pleasant to some and downright rude to others just the landlady not the others
