We visited Bournemouth for the first time recently with our two young children and, after booking into the hotel, had a stroll and visited the pier. The fee to get onto the pier is very small and insignificant, but probably vital for it's maintenance. The pier itself is in pretty good condition considering it's age and exposure to the elements. At the end of the pier are a number of rides for younger children. Access to them is by purchasing tokens. Unfortunately these prices were too high, at £10 for 6 tokens and each ride costing 1 token money doesn't stretch too far. The kids enjoyed what they did go on in the late afternoon sun but I am sure the costs could be reduced for what they are. We'd visit again, but mainly to take in the coastal views and have a relaxing stroll together.

Seems rather dated, and quite scruffy. Nice restaurant at the end of the pier, but not really impressed overall.

A small entrance fee but it goes to the upkeep of this one of Britain's favourite seaside piers, lots to see and do during the summer months with places to eat and get drinks.
Nice just to sit on the benches watching the world go by and listening to the sound of the waves... very relaxing.
Young children love the pier as much as the older generations.
Go on spend an hour walking up and down it.

small cost to get on the pier but i guess its worth it since it all goes to good cause- along the pier plenty to read on Bournemouth pier/beach history and interesting it was indeed. It was just nice sitting on bench and listening to the waves crashing onto the beach and watching in the distant families on the beach having fun, couples enjoying a romantic walk and just generally peaceful time

You´ll pay 80 pences admission to this pier and then got in to beautiful promenade. Restaurant/cafe in the end was good and fine, delicious cakes and affordable. In the top, there are couple of amusement machines for children, 6 punds/hour, or 2 pounds each or 10 pounds six rides. It depends of what time you go there. You can sit on cafe and your children can ride - or the other way round.
