“Good views, decent food, slow service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2014

This cafe is situated next to the runway of Bournemouth airport where you can see planes landing and taking off. It is quite a spacious and clean cafe. There is a reasonable choice on the menu and it is reasonably priced. However, the food took about 40 minutes to be served and the restaurant was not even very busy. When the food came it was good quality. My tip for this restaurant is, if you go for lunch, arrive early when I think you will be less likely to wait too long.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry you had a long wait for your lunch, however we do cook everything to order and sometimes things may take longer to cook depending on the dish and how many checks are in front of yours.

Going forward,I will endeavour to install a process advising customers if a longer waiting time than normal is occurring on hot meals.

“I thoroughly recommend BFCC for value, quality, service and atmosphere.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2014

I drove a party of fourteen elderly clients to BFCC today. This is one of those places that should definitely have pictures of their food on the menu; you read through and think hmm! these prices are a tiny bit north of reasonable, and then you see the mountainous portions and appealing presentation, and realise why. The staff are helpful and friendly, even when everyone wanted to pay individually. Service was speedy even though the place was rammed. There was a broad range of meals, and my sausage, mash, onion gravy and peas was a very pleasant meal which sadly I lacked the capacity to finish. The view of the runway was an added bonus, with the option to sit outside in better weather. The restaurant and toilets were spotless. I intend to try their breakfast before too long. It would help if they put their menu on their website.

“Come and see us-open till 5...not quite”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 March 2014 via mobile

The website advertises 'come and see us...open till 5' - Which strangely is a time when many pilots finish flying and would like to arrive... We arrived for a quick coffee at quarter to 5 to find the doors locked and the staff already in their cars. On seeing us attempting to enter, but finding it closed, the staff drove off managing not to get eye contact with us! This is not the first occasion this has happened. As a pilot who has been using the bar for over 20 years, I have seen many owners come and go and I look fwd to the next new owners promoting 'new opening hours and friendly service'... Shame really.

Firstly I would like to apologise for the café closing 15 minutes early, however I am not sure what day you actually experienced the closure but over the last 2 months due to bad weather, flooding of the bridge and power cuts we have been inclined to close just a little earlier than advertised.
I would also like to apologise for you not being acknowledged by a member of staff.

For the last 2.5 years we have been closing at 5pm, apart from any unforeseen circumstances.
We are no longer a members club and have not been for the last 6 years. We are open to the general public. I also hire the venue out various evenings so closing at 5pm daily suits the business to prepare.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss further on 01202 651122

“Little gem!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 March 2014

A friend recommended that we try out the Bournemouth Flying Club Cafe as we'd never been before - What a great little find! We stopped by for breakfast and the food is cracking, far better than I expected if I'm honest. You don't even have to be a plane enthusiast to appreciate the novelty of the location. It's an amazing place to spend the morning and the food is a bonus!

“Charming little place”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 January 2014 via mobile

On a wet raining day we discovered this little cafe and was pleasantly surprised. Great food, not a massive choice but the beef bap was jolly nice. It's more of a location type place as the aviation is on your doorstep, which is largely unique and defiantly the main draw, but then the clue is in the title!

Will defo go again on a more pleasant day, and have a breakfast which looks good also.

A vey convivial day. Thankyou.
