“Nightmare to park!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2014 via mobile

Although Castle Point boasts most hight street stores and grocery stores it lacks immensely in traffic management.
Apart from the whole car park is now held up on stilts due to issues with its structure, finding a space is incredibly hard and I find myself driving round in circles for ages until I then have to have a standoff with Joe Bloggs in his RangeRover to squeeze into a gap.
Some days it can take an hour just to get out of the car park!
They have 2 lanes on one of the out ramps which are just wide enough for 2 x disability scooters!
It truly needs addressing.
In a nut shell, Castle Point has some great shops but is let down by their traffic management team.

This shopping centre is fabulous. It's not the biggest but it has a good selection of shops and free parking. It's not really an all day experience but its a great place to pass the time, have a coffee and some retail therapy !

“What a mess”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2013 via mobile

Negatives: Embarrassing mess of a car park: poor design means traffic jam nightmare when busy; unresolved construction "issues" means place is held up by girders and netting (very pretty) and water cascades down onto cars and people on the lower deck when raining. If raining, also means you'll get wet wherever you are because the roof doesn't extend out far enough to protect you. Castlepoint's refreshment facilities are about as far from the imaginative, healthy and good value spectrum as you can get.
No independent shops. Chain store paradise.
Positives: clean, safe, no drunks, no beggars, no boarded-up shops and very few chavvy teenagers. (Nice contrast to town centre then.) Chain stores are clean modern and big enough to have a good range.

“Very Handy For Shopping”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2013

Castlepoint is a great place. It is easily accessible by either car or Bus from Bournemouth and Christchurch and has a wide variety of stores - including 2 supermarkets! (Asda & Sainsburys).
There is no smaller or one-of style of stores though which is pretty typical of these type of retail parks and it has the typical choice of Nandos and Frankie & Bennies for food.

However slightly out-width the retail park at Bournemouth Royal Hospital there is a Burger King and a Toby Calvary which is very handy (and the Cavalry is very nice too).
Overall Castlepoint is a very handy place on your way home or for a meal outside. But it doesn't beat Bournemouth town centre in terms if selection of stores or Restaurants.
