“Nice hotel, great location.”
Reviewed 9 August 2014

We were placed in this hotel by a company that organised a hen weekend for us. I would class it more as a b&b than a hotel but we enjoyed our stay. when we arrived we had some people that had dropped out so Chrissy, the owner, had to change some of our rooms around which she did without a problem. Our room was quite tight on the first night with four of us in it but as one person left the next day the extra bed was taken down to give us more room.
The rooms have a small fridge in them which was a bonus and they were clean on arrival and were cleaned each day.
We were disappointed to find that the breakfast was continental and not full English but we enjoyed it anyway, we received fresh coffee and tea, a choice of juices and as much toast as we wanted with jam, marmite and marmalade as well as pastries, so plenty to fill us up.
We found the owner and staff very polite and easy to talk to and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely use this hotel again it is in a great location within walking distance of the beach and the town and all the great nightlife.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are cooler in the summer.

As a family of five we were fortunate enough to have found a nice small family en suite at this hotel as our stay was unplanned.
Owner was kind enough to allow us to rent this room at almost midnight.
Room was clean with a mini fridge a plasma tv and a shower.
We also got to vacate the room a little later than the scheduled time.
Having young kids with me , owner gave us juice, muffins, fruit and pain au chocolate which the kids enjoyed as a courtesy. Which we are thankful for.
Although this hotel may not be very big I
recommend this hotel as the service was great and it is a clean hotel.

Thank you for your hospitality.

Kind regards
Mrs A Kalam

Charged us for something that was already broke in the room. £128 for a head board. The woman is a con artist, she is rude and is never there. They say the bar is open yet the bar was closed the whole Saturday that I was there.

Yet again this is part of the same group who caused damage, he decided to add another £ on.
If he had listened to me, I explained on arrival that the Bar would not be opened on the Saturday
evening, due to my granddaughter being in a concert. It is not normally a problem and the other 2 groups staying were quite happy about it. The first Bar is within a few minutes from the Hotel, so they could have gone there. The Bar is a small bar and is opened for Guests normally early evening and closes when the last person goes out. Bournemouth has a lot of Pubs an Nightclubs which sees guests coming in from 2 am to 6am in the morning.

Motto of all three reviews here is DO NOT CAUSE DAMAGE, AS YOU WILL BE CHARGED.

Stayed in this so called hotel this weekendwith some mates manager was never there had plenty of people turning up asking the customers how to check in etc.the bar was meant to be 24hrs and it was actually til 8 which is clearly a lie.have to pay for your breakfast and being charged 30 a night to stay in the shoe Box of a room would of thought that would cover the breakfast.we accidently broke a head board off one of the beds and had a phonecall the day after tellingly me £227 had been taking from my bank account 127 of it for a head board.the beds were standard beds a head board is not £127,we was up for paying for the board but how to you comprehend being charged that much.I feel like she has taking the mick out of us basically robbed us.the manager is a joke.there was heroin addicts roaming the streets aswell as prostitutes asking for sex.bad hotel bad area but bournemouth was quality shame we picked probably the worst hotel there

Its sad when people have to add on, to make out the Hotel is really bad. There are no more unsavoury people out side my Hotel that aren't outside any other Hotel. We are NOT in a bad area, just a few minutes from the train station, so you will get all sorts of people walking around. This review and the one before and the one after are all the same group. It seems that only the ones who cause damage and have to pay for it that write most of the reviews. Thankfully I have some nice ones from some great people that enjoyed themselves, which is what they came to Bournemouth to do.

this has to be the worse b&b I have ever stayed in with the owner out to make as much cash as possible. charged £127 for a broken head rest on the bed that we believe had already been broken when we arrived and £100 for smoking that also never happened may I add. the owner had accused the room of smoking with the only evidence being a bit of rolling tobacco left on the window ledge and as there was two people sharing the room there was a charge of £50 each. the head rest was taken out of the room before we could even see what had happened. the first we knew about this was when we received a phone call in the afternoon saying that I have just taken £227 out of your account due to those reasons stated above no face to face contact at all and when we had arrived back a little later to discuss the issues the owner was no where to be seen. when we checked out the following morning all we received was load of abuse from the the owner we asked to see the head rest that she was going to buy to replace the broken one and surprise surprise she couldn't find it anymore on the internet. she did however then let us see the broken one she had removed and there was nothing wrong with it so no doubt this will be back on the same bed again. So please if you are mad enough to stay here then do check everything in your room on arrival as she will try and charge you for anything she can. oh and don't lose your keys as she charges £25 for that as well not that we did lose them just thought I would add in another ridiculous charge she has. we wouldn't of mined what so ever if we had of broken the bed or smoked in the room but we never and the way the owner went about doing this was all wrong.

Room Tip: just don't pick one here

Sadly we did have a broken headboard with which he did see it, and refused to look at the computer where I had found a new one in the sale. Also the housekeeper could not get into the room for the smoke, there was ash and tobacco everywhere. Kept the rest of the guests up from 3am in the middle of the night until about 5, walking from one room to another and talking so loud no one could sleep. Despite me trying to calm them down and go to there rooms, they said they had a right to do whatever they wanted. They then decided to. They then trashed the room before disappearing before anyone got up.

If you are planning a stag or hen party in Bournemouth... I can not recommend this hotel enough! The land lady (and her family) were attentive and welcoming. The bedrooms, although a little cramped, were clean, well decorated and had their own en suite. A cut above your usual stag-party bunk houses! It is in a great location too - 5 mins from the train station, 8 minutes from stag-friendly bars and clubs.

We were grateful that we didn't have to walk far to the nearest bar... as we were dressed as wrestlers. Dutch courage very much required!

But the best thing about the Chelsea Hotel is the amazing value it represents. £30 per person, per night... with breakfast! What a bargain!

I noticed a few reviewers bemoaning this place - but you have to wonder what they were expecting for £30!? Seriously. For that price, this place is extraordinary value!

Having looked high and low for an inexpensive room for just one night, I found the Chelsea Hotel.
For the price asked I wasn't expecting to much, just hoping for a clean bed, etc.

I was more than pleasantly surprised. The room, bathroom, bed etc. were quite pristine and the welcome from the Chelsea's owner Chrissy was professional and very welcoming.

Room Tip: I like top floors. I had one here.
