Reviewed 12 August 2013

We stayed here for two nights and found the Laguna to be well worth the journey. Parking was not a problem and the gentleman in reception very efficient and friendly. Our room (on the first floor) was a pleasant surprise being light, clean and airy with a pleasant view of the indoor pool and outside area. We only had breakfast which was more than adequate and served by a delightful waitress, Beatrice who is Spanish, speaks perfect english and worked extremely hard. Not only that she was a dream. In addition to the indoor pool there is a games room with pool table and table tennis. In addition there were a number of greenhouses which we wanted to investigate but unfortunately didn't have time. Maybe next time as we intend to return. Try it.

Room Tip: The room was allocated on arrival.

When booking there was a spectrum of prices so we knew that as this was at the cheaper end of the spectrum not to expect top range.
The staff were lovely, helpful, family orientated and went above and beyond helpful with assisting with baby food and milk.
The hotel was dated but quirky.
The rooms were clean and basic.
It was a half hour walk to the beach so a little tiring going back and forth if you go day and evening, however taxi one way was only £6.
Swimming pool was clean and warm. I didn't use any of the other facilities.
Noisy at night time.
Would have no issues staying again.

We booked this hotel for a one night stay in Bournemouth, it was £70 which included breakfast.
This hotel does have a pool and a little seating area outside but it's right next to the car park so the only view you have is cars and a few coaches, these coaches are also parked right near the entrance too.
We collected our key and went to our room...
It looked like it needed a good hoover in all the corners and along the edges as there were bits on the floor, in desperate need of updating, very old fashioned, not very impressive.
Bathroom very small, shower is off of taps and no pressure at all so water just trickles out, found it easier to take shower head from its bracket to use, sink didn't look very clean, again in desperate need of updating.
Only one plug in the room so you can either charge your phone or dry your hair or use the kettle but not at the same time!!!
Bed was quite comfy and did have quite a good nights sleep.
Breakfast was nice, all the usual you'd expect.
Friendly staff.
Would I stay here again....probably not, but its not as bad as some of the reviews say!!

Myself and family stayed at the Laguna Hotel and was very pleased with it. The rooms was spotless and the but some members of staff couldn't understand what you was trying to say to them and they had to keep asking Waitress Carol to help them..Food was good and tasty , ..Swimmimg pool is lovely and we also enjoyed the games room and bar entertainment ..the Quiz night was a lot of fun..and free which was a bonus cause we won some prizes. Waitress Carol is lovely hostess and was always very helpful with a smile nothing was too much trouble.
We could not find fault with anything or anyone and believe me if there was something to find my wife would have found it....we will return..

Room Tip: rooms at the rear of the hotel are quitier so no coach noises

Booked a coach break from Oxford for 4 nights for 2 adults and 2 girls age 14, from start to finish this holiday was excellent, very friendly staff, spotless rooms Food choice perfect, different roast meat dish each evening and vegetarian choice, also children's menu. Indoor pool a bonus especially on a wet day!...entertainment at night in the small club if you want to stay on site, usual holiday singer/keyboard/guitar but very good. Only 1 negative was senior member of waitress staff with a little bit of an attitude towards younger less experience staff, who all worked very hard and always with a smile, couldn't fault this hotel, yes it's a bit dated but it adds to the charm, we had 2 included day trips coach drivers informative and funny, well organised and definitely worth going on.

Just got back from Laguna hotel in Bournemouth. First impressions were dismal. Found a toe nail (which belong to us) under the bed, the room didn't smell fresh, there were hairs in the bed, when I moved the bed to make it there was rubbish and bits behind it, half used toilet roll from last occupant, shower hose held in place by jubilee clip so it was so tall I couldn't have a shower with out getting my hair wet, at breakfast asked for 2 pieces of fried bread and got to fried eggs which means that the staff couldn't understand English very well which I find disrespectful, the staff were not very friendly or helpful, the 'manager' that was behind the reception was curt and not very welcoming. Parking was limited due to the coaches that were everywhere which were left engines idling at 7:00am in the morning. The swimming pool was not heated and the chorline had gone off which gave it an umpleasent smell and therefor no one should really be using the pool until it had been sorted.

Room Tip: Do not use this hotel.

I've just come backfrommy 3rd stay at the Laguna and I really like the place. OK the Ritz it ain't but but it was more than adequate for what I wanted. It was clean, comfortable, nice food and a reasonable bar, handily placed for exploring Bournemouth. I have to admit meal times were a bit of a hoot as it seems most of the dining room staff didn't have a very good grasp of the English language? Plus you either got 3 guy's trying to take your order or totally ignored! All in all a thoroughly enjoyable break there and I would have no hesitation going back there.

Room Tip: Check the ensuite bathroom has a walk in shower as I found the bath a bit of a mare to get in and ou...
